John, Where's anderson? I really like your project - I've been kicking around putting an LS1 is a 3rd gen firebird for quite some time. I may have stumbbled across a good starting car real cheap lately too I'd be interested to actually see your car sometime depending on where you are. TIA

Anderson is 25 miles off the NE corner of Indy, right on I-69. Not too far from you.

WOW
Nice times, especially for baseline runs. Get those sixty foot times down and you'll see mid elevens. What will you do about headers?
Those times tempt me to pull the drivetrain from my SS and put it into the 89 RS I've got sitting around.
But definitely some good numbers for no heads or headers! Just think of where you can go with a set of heads, some headers, and a little weight reduction!

I can't believe your in Anderson. I went to Undergrade there at AU. I started out my drag racing at Munice Dragway in my '86 GT. I miss that track. Congrates man!

Hey EZRIDN, Muncie is a lot of fun, but I'd trade Anderson, Indiana for South Florida any day. I really like Florida!!

Well, I'm in the middle of having 3.73 gears installed in the 91 Z, and upon removal of the old setup, discovered a previous owner had put in 2.73's!!! That explains why my speedo has alway read low. It read low with the old TPI engine in it, and still read low after the LS1 conversion. I had set up the PCM as having 3.23 gears (the option label on the car shows 3.23's) but it hadn't read right since I owned the car.

I guess the real point of this post is that to me it seems INSANE that this thing ran 11.9's with 2.73 gears!

I guess it just further reinforces my opinion that this is the BEST engine ever to come out of Chevrolet.
As soon as the gears are done it's back to the track!!
