Ghetto is great if it gets your car out of the shop within a reasonable amount of time...it's not like you need to go there.

So I said $6500 and you came back with a very liberal $5600.

Scat makes a 3.75" stroke crank for ~$375, don't know about a 3.80". You also way underestimated the machine work and balance. With those cheap skat cranks it usually takes 2 slugs to balance so there's $250 alone, $350 for a line hone, deck, bore, etc, $200 for the offset grind, $300 in bearings and labor for the cam bearing install, etc. $140 for rings, $100 in gaskets, $50 for the oil pump, might as well throw an EWP on there while its apart right?

Also I had assumed you were planning on running a camshaft in the motor. Figure $260 for a comp custom grind, $200 for the solid lifters, and $100 for pushrods. Also the port work on those 220's should be around $1100 but don't forget about $350 in valves and hardware for them.

Anyway it doesn't matter if you spent $7500 or $2500 I'm still going to wax you..

To be fair I think you should post the results of your fastest M6 Mike. Everybody knows that these autos with converters are alot faster. There are people with no motor work in the 11s with automatics.

Mike, first off not "knocking the competition" here. I was actually quite neutral to your shop but scores of local guys (including people who posted in this thread) said that your labor prices blow ($95 an hour! ) and you rip people off every chance you get, I won't go into detail because I'm lazy and don't give 2 ***** about your shop either way. Second, you didn't accomplish **** with Terry's car. I think Terry would be running 10.98 with anyone's stage II heads/cam (MTI, Cartek, GTP, etc.) The bottom line is your heads aren't anything special; they make good power on Terry's car but Terry himself has spent much more time on his setup than a lot of other people. I saw his car at dyno day, no A/c, no power steering, tiny electric water pump, dynabatt, etc. How many other fast MMS car's are out there, oh that's right, none. In short, Terry makes Terry's car fast, it's not MMS. And lastly, you may want to talk with Al on who he shares his information with

Well i am happy with MMS. My car may not run 10s and i dont want it to, but i can drive to the track at 170+mph with the a/c on and still run 11s. I am sure if i told Mike i wanted to run 10.50 he could make it happen.Depends on what you want from your car. I sold a 9 sec 67 to help pay for this car, and i am happy with having a nice fast street car.Just my opinion.
PS. congrads on the new best.

All the MMS power without blowing a motor "

If you are all proud of your set up fine, but this is very derogatory. Once again you are talking out of your ***. So keep your libelous comments to yourself.

I give Terry credit for getting his car into the 10's. But I give MMS credit for the power he makes. Those are two different issues. MPH is an indicator of HP (what was your MPH), ET's are an indicator of cars setup. We did what you've managed to do over two years ago. Come to think of it I have another customer running 11.4's @ 121 w/ a our heads and a 219 cam that is over two years old.

I really don't know what the point is about our heads not being special, but he does run 10's and he does have our package. There is only one other 10 sec h/c car on the west coast and he runs our cam.

Just like everyone always told Terry, spend more time on your own car and less time talking **** about other shops! I couldn't agree more.

That isn't the point. I respect what every other shop does. But, I don't respect the tactics he uses to gain recognition.
