Another street/drag tire post and gears

Guys, the whole idea to drag racing is staying in your top gear the longest amount of time possible. You want to gear your car accordingly. Just enough gear to finish the 1/4 a couple of hundred rpm higher than your peak HP rpm. That will give you the best combination of ET and MPH.
The longer you stay in top gear the longer you stay in your power band. It makes hardly any difference in first gear if you've got 4.10s or 4.30s, unless you're slow shifting into 2nd. 1st gear is for launching that's all.
For a stick car the 2 most important things are rear gear ratio and tranny gear ratios. If you have a wide ratio box and you're rpms drop below the engine's TQ peak after a shift then you're oing to go slower. Only way to correct this is by adding more rear gear. But only as much as needed to still be able to finish the quarter in 4th.
With an auto the most important things are stall speed and rear ratio. The reason why LS1s love a big converter is because big converters yield a higher shift extension, thus somewhat correcting the rpm drop when shifting occurs. 3.06 to 1.7 is a big drop.

I think I have found what I need
ET Street: 3758 27X10.50-15LT
With a swap to 4.11's and this tire I'll be at 125mph at 6300rpm factoring in .4 inches of growth at the big end. This should be about perfect with cats on the car and powershifting in good weather.

I just found this thread after trying to find some info about people who run a 27x10.5x15 tire... Considering I am the new owner of Chrispy's car, I thought it would be fun to get this discussion going again... Since I bought the car from Chrispy, here is what I have done...
-Removed the catted Y pipe and replace with off road Y
-Swapped stock springs and shocks for Hal drag shocks and 275lbs springs
-Swapped stock front end with BMR K-Member and A-Arms
-Swapped stock seats for Sparco Fighters
I have ran an 11.5 @ 121 on a 1.60 using Chris's old 28x9 ET Drags in not so great air... The car still has a 4.10 gear in it... but a new one that is quiet I gad the shift light set at 6400RPM which I think is too high and was granny shifting... My clutch is already sold and the 5th gear slider is broken...
This week this is what I planning on doing...
-Swapping the T56 for a built 700R4 with a custom Precision 3500RPM Stall
-Removing air bags, heater core and fan, ABS box
-Installing a set of 27x10.5x15 Hoosier Quick Time Pros
What do you think I should be shifting at and what sort of ET and trap speed do you think I will see?
My next plan is to install a TNT Ring Kit over the next couple of weeks and try to spray it into the 9's
This is the kind of power it's making now with the T56... along with my best timeslip...

Wow this an old post!
You know my opinion on this....
Shift it at 6400rpm minimum.
If you were staying all motor a 4.30 gear would be perfect but you are planning to spray as well so the 4.10 would probably be best.
The air has been pretty crappy for your runs (2800-3400 DA) The car will go a lot faster when the air cools down a bit and you get more used to the combo.

You need to work on two things:
1) ET
2) Maxing out your combo
1) I would run those tires, and run the front shocks at 1/1 and the rears at 4/4. Shoot for a 1.45, and dont' settle for anything worse than a 1.51 with your combo.
2) I'd try shifting at 6400, and then 6600. You should see a pattern.
