First Time Drag Racer

First Time Drag Racer
I have never been to a dragstrip before. I got my car just two weeks ago. The car is a 2002 Camaro SS with the M6. What should I do at the track? What would be a good RPM to launch at? The car has SLP loudmouth exhaust, SLP lid, K&N filter, 160 thermostat, LSedit tuning, SLP subframe connectors, and a B&M shortshifter. I have never launch my car and don't know how. Any help on what to do and what to expect will be extremely helpful. Thanks

If you dont know how to launch your car, practice at some empty parking lot or somthing before you head to the track.
Its a fine line between spinning your tires and getting traction.
Try 2,000 rpm and dont dump the clutch, slip it out.
good luck and there are a lot of ''drag racing basic '' threads
And your car is capable of low 13's high 12's, but thats moving the shifter real fast, and a good launch

Remeber to leave on the third yellow light not the green one. That will help your reaction time. Try launching at around 1500 or 2000 rpm's and riding the clutch out if you dump it you will bog and spin the stock tire's.
