Terry I'm happy for u.
If having a RACE CAR is what u want then more power to u.

I on the other hand did a few mods lately (4.30's/PS back on,28in street tire) to make the car MORE streetable.I'm gonna go to a real quiet muffler real soon too...

If I crack a 10.95@122 in MY (3500lb) car I'll be REAL HAPPY.

That u can bet on bud.
I wish u the best....

Don't getcha panties in a wad Joel! We're all friend here. Just seemed a little like you were claiming that Yanks aren't as efficient as Yank and everyone else claims they are (fact is, they are and have been dyno proven time and time again just as the looser Vigs have been proven time and time again to be inefficient.) If I misunderstood you then I appologize.

I have NEVER said that you wouldn't gain anything from locking the converter with a Yank so no, that didn't slip my mind...musta slipped yours. I've always said that the gain would be small and I still believe that. Hard to see how a 10 RWHP gain could be much more than a MPH or so on an already fast car and it's hard to prove one way or another since inconsistencies are inevitable.

Colonel I stand corrected.U did say it would be worth alittle teeny tiny bit We are all friends here and I am sorry for the cockiness.

I tested both a VIG/YANK on the dyno,No doubt about it the Yank is 2 to 3% more efficent.Doenst sound like much until u make 385 or more at the wheels.Thats an additional 10 to 12 RWHP which is a decent amount.

But again we;re talking a tenth at best. Some guys need that tenth so they run the Yank.

I just wanna finish some testing of my VIG, then I'm going back to a TP,its the best verter to date for most hardcore setups.

Terry u can brag,U deserve to with that MPH but to say your quiet exhuast and some do dads make it a street car is rediculous.

We ALL know u dont drive to the track now becasue your brakes dont work very well on the street.I have little birdies out in Cali that email me too ya know......

Like I said, the car is impressive for a race car
See ya buddy........

This is now the quickest and fastest MMS car isn't it? Their big motors haven't run anything faster have they?

I know Tom has gone quicker/faster.

JS: Re taking my car to the track on the trailer, I've got one now and I plan on using it. I've got over 10,000 miles on my MMS heads/cam setup. How many miles do you have on your Cartek setup? You talk about making your car a street car some day, but right now its more of a gutted trailer queen than me. At least I have a quiet catback, nice 17's, and reasonable gears.

Tom's car ran 10.77@125 but he had a 1.44 60 ft. if you could hook you would be both quicker and faster. As it sits you are only faster. But when was the last time you heard about Tom running his car? I wonder if he lost interest in drag racing?

Looks like Tom's run was back in December. Seems like a long time has passed without any improvement...I wonder what happened?

Terry,
You done good with your car...
I would not call people MORONs because they have a better tow vehicle.. Someday you could be SANDWICHED between a BUS and your RACECAR.. The little ROTORS on your TOY truck will EXPLODE

GAS Mileage = 4 gals to the mile
+ 100 LBS NOS
hahahahahahahahahhahahahahha

Terry, your car is very impressive. Congrats.

I want to explain about my ET's in December. It was the really the first time out with the newly tuned 396 engine. My 1st 2 runs were in the very low 11's until a vacuum leak was found. I then started to run in the 10.79 to 10.81 range and the MPH was around 119 but I was shifting from 1st to 3rd gear and I had to let off the gas at about the 1000' mark because I ran out of gear. The last run was a 10.77 at 125XX because I feathered the gas from the 1000 to the finish line and salvaged a decent mph.
When I got the car home I found the nut that holds the linkage to the turbo 350 tranny was loose. I tightened the nut and that solved the problem. The et's and mph's were bogus and did not show the car's full potential. I really think the car has a 10.50 + or - and a 130 mph + or -. I hate to bench race but I think I will be close to those numbers once I get back into action.

Sorry to dump on your post Terry but the question was asked so I thought I would explain.

Again congrats. TRUELY AWESOME .
Tom Staab

Tom didnt you have a sleeve problem with the motor? Hopefully you'll get it fixed quickly and back on the road soon. I remember being at Cecil the day you ran 11.1 with your old setup and 10.50 on the 100 shot. I had my black formula there that day with the powerdyne on stock motor running 11.4@124mph. That was one of the best days at the track I ever had
Cheers,
Chris

Terry when you made your runs can you outline what you had in the interior of the car. Did you remove the carpet and seats for the passes? I know you drive with the carpet and seats in the car. You have ABS still? What about bumper supports? Doesnt sound too race-carish to me except for those damn front brakes
