Default M/T ET Street Radials Finally...

I was finally able to get my hands on a set of 275/50/15 ET Street Radials from McCormack Racing..The tires came in today and should have them mounted soon...From what I've heard and read about these drag radials are suppose to be the ***** so we'll see..

Its going to interesting to see how they will perform compared to the M&H Racemasters I've been running in the same size..The M&H's have performed way better then I expected them to with me running some of my best times along with great 60's..

When Hotrod magazine compared them to the ET Drags at a strip in California The results were pretty impressive..

What PSI do you run at the track if you don't mind me asking ? I think in the article it was somewhere in the 13-15 PSI range where they got their best 60's...

the only downfall is they are heavy. the 275's are 30 lbs a peice. compare that to a 22 lb et drag and that is alot of difference.

they have got to weigh a little more. i have 315 nittos on now and they didnt feel as heavy as the mickeys i got in the mail yesterday. im almost ready to send them back and get something different to run on my draglites. like the et street. it only weighs 20 lbs in the size i need.

My 275/50/15 BFG's were about 30lbs each also. Radials are heavy.
I have a slightly used set of 27/11.5/15 Hoosier QTP dots that only weigh 20.5lbs each. Almost 20lbs of rotating weight is quite a bit.
I hope these M/T's are not being over hyped. Time will tell.
My BFG's just cry foul when I try to launch with them. They seem to want some sort of pansy *** throttle feathering action to hookup which I can't seem to comprehend.

I found it interesting Hotrod had to really get some heat into the tread before they hooked. They ran the tread temps about 50 degrees hotter than they did with the slicks before they got decent 60's.

I believe this is probably because it IS still technically a RADIAL tire isnt it? Radial tires tend to dissipate heat faster then a RACE ONLY type tire....I'm not surprised by that finding. I'm curious to see the results with these tires on several different setups.

Tim,keep me in touch with how they do at the track with the 4.10s. I'm interested in how well they hook and how high the rpms are when you cross the traps.
