Default 60 foot time

Ok so let me start by saying I'm new to this and am learning as much as possible as I go so I went to the track for the first time ran the 1/8 mile and was having a bad 60 foot time. the best I got was a 1.88. My set up is a 2002 camaro z28 LS1 with a small cam 3200 stall and 373 gears with a 100 shoot of nitrous with a NOS mini with a 275/40/17 tire. So what was happening was when I would go the nitrous would not come on to about 20 to 30 feet out went over my nitrous controller and found every thing was set right with the nitrous to cut on at 3000 RPM's and off at 6400 Rpm's for the shift.... So I guess my question is what would be a good torque converter to run I tried flashing it at the light and just coming off the brake and straight to the floor with the gas pedal and still same result any feedback helps.

When I was spraying my old mustang I had a controller set to come on around 3k or so per all the stuff I read I online. It sixty foot poorly. Set it to come on at 2200 and was a huge difference.
later on I had a different kit on it that just used a wot switch and never had a problem.

that being said it should sixty foot better than that on just motor.
I love my ptc converter. 4K stall, bolt ons and full weight, low 1.6 sixty foot

you either have to get bigger stall or set the nitrous to come on sooner but ive also heard not to use nitrous below 3400 rpm but I cant comment on that part

Suspension setup and pinion angle are important. Is your suspension stock? Also tires. A 15” rim will help with a taller tire.

You can change torque converters all day long but if it’s already spinning then you need to address those issues first... which is tire choice and suspension.

it should be hooking with that tire if its a drag radial im assuming . so it should do better on motor than them numbers and the nitrous is not going to come on till you hit the set rpm when you launch so if it takes 10 ft or 40ft to get to that rpm your convertor is tight but im not convertor guy ok ,so set to come on lower in rpms will change when it comes in at track but how low rpm is on you I cant recommend that but if it hooks and comes on sooner you will be lot faster 60ft

when I say lot faster that would be going from your 1.88 to say 1.60 or 1.50s for me that's a lot .

Yes it is a stock Suspension. The nitrous comes on at 3000 rpms. And that's what I was thinking that the Torque converter of is too tight cause I even tried to flash it off the line and same thing the tire is a 275/40/17 and yes a 1.60 to a 1.50 60 foot would be nice

my opinion just put 3800 to 4000 stall in and have fun and its still very good on the street and will make track a lot better you will love it

If you put a bigger stall you’re going to spin more with a stock suspension and whatever tire that is... you’re 60 will be worse.
Speaking of tires? What are you running?

I went 1.6x with a 3200 stall and intake/exhaust only. Is the car tuned? Have you logged a launch? Does it spin when the nitrous hits at 3k?

No I have not logged a run but from the video it looks like it does not spin. And yes it is tuned.

Doesn’t add up to me unless your cam is bigger then you think and you really have no power down there...

3200 stall in an otherwise stock car should go faster 60’ then that let alone a built car with nitrous etc

Like said above, move down to the 15" (275 60 15 drag radial) wheel and put some adjustable shocks on the front. Many years ago and being NA I had issues on MT drag radials 315s. I did just what I described and the 60' came way down.
