Default Roll cage, pre notched or no?

I am looking at ordering a mild steel 8.50 cage form MWC soon. As far as installation costs go, should I spend the extra $375 and order it pre-notched?

You will not be disappointed you did and if you are having a shop install your cage they will appreciate it. Every single prenotched cage is test fit before it goes out. On top of it we do installs here of our own product that gives us plenty of self feedback to make our product better for our customers.

Ya I did their cage without pre-notch, and it was quite a bit of work getting it to fit right, especially halo and a-pillar bars. But it was something I wanted to learn, so if you’re not in a big hurry there is some good experience to be gained for sure

I have a wild rides 6pt bar in my car, fit seems great to me, went in real straight forward, comes pre notched and test fit to their roller. The guys were super helpful before and after purchase and gave me a lil shop tour and pointers on there test fit car when I showed up to pick it up, which saved quite a bit vs shipping, and then me and the girl turned it into a little road trip weekend getaway.

But back to OP, if you can, spring the money on a pre notch. If you're having a shop install it see if they'll charge more or less depending on if you spend the money upfront to make their job easier. If not, it might not be worth the extra if you farm out the install.

I got Midwest's chromoly cage with the window net. I had a local guy weld it in as I can't tig weld well enough to do it. The fitment is excellent. The guy I had weld it in was very impressed with it.....for a pre bent/notched cage it literally went right in without modifications. I did fit my Kirkey seat in order to have a seatback brace welded onto the cage. I would definitely buy it again.

I can't speak for the Wild Rides cage. I've never seen one in person or know of anyone who has one.

Money well spent imo. I bought the CM pre-notched kit and it fit like a glove. A buddy and I installed it.
