What slicks to hook up a sprayed 422?
The car is now an A4 (built 200-4R) with a 2.72 1st gear, 3.73 rear, a PY3400E, and a 150 wet shot. On the spray, RWTQ will peak at way over 700 ft-lbs even without converter spiking.
I will not be spraying out of the hole, but probably hit the juice at the 60-foot mark or shift to second, whichever comes first. I figure spraying out of the hole = wall-kissing wheelspin or bumper dragging - I don't want to do either Got some time to think about this - next several times at the track will be all motor until I get the full hang of this new A4.
IMO. I think you should put the tallest, widest slick you can fit under that Hot Rod of yours.
Maybe a 30x10x15 M/T or Goodyear. You will have to do some triming. Madman can handle that part.
Good luck to ya.
Let me know when your headed to the track.
Do you have any pics of your car with the 30" slicks on? I would love to see that!
Make sure you get a video of the wheelstand.

28x10.5W's are a good choice. I've seen some sub 5.20 1/8 mile runs on them. Any larger would just be a plus. Your suspension set up will be more of a factor than the W's.

Suspension is BMR extreme torque arm, Hotchkis LCAs and Panhard, still stock shocks and springs. Car was launching straight and pulling wheels on the M6 setup - think cage might be helping to straight launch also.
I think I will try the 28x15x10.5W to see how it does before jumping to a 30" slick.

I think I might go with the 28" first to see how it does. Either way, I will probably be contacting Brian (Madman) to get my fender lips rolled a bit. I'll just tell him to make it big enough for a 30" if needs be
I'll let you know whenever I head out to the track. The next few times I will be all motor on the 26" slicks getting the A4 down (which will only be about how to stall it and the right tire pressure I'm thinking).
