Thanks guys!! Im finally in a good spot to get after it and thats just what Ill do. Roller by christmas and fire up my end of march. Ready for the spring air.
Its finally starting to look like something! Cant wait until this chassis is buttoned up and on the floor. This is my least favorite part of the whole build. Thats why I bought the last car as a roller haha.
But Soon! Once it rolls I can really fly on it. Im actually good at the other stuff haha.
What waterman pump is that? And, what specifics about that one made you choose it?
Beautiful project!
It is a .700 rotor Nostalgia Bertha.
I had a lot of people tell me Id need bigger, but I went really fast on the old 10.5gpm magnafuel I had with ethanol. So hypothetically depending on where I was for similar rpms. Id only need 5 more gpm than that for m1.
The choice was, I believe a lot of these guys over pump these methanol combos. Ive spoke to some individuals much wiser than I am and they've all reverted to the same thing. You never want to return more than 4gpm.
I see a lot of these similar combos with 20-21gpm pumps and everyone complains of foaming the fuel. Thats simply from returning so much.
Waterman has amazing customer service and they make a great pump, so thats mainly why I chose it. Im going to spin this combo same as my last around a 9,100 rpm shift point. With the converter staying at the 8,000-9,000 range.
Anyways. They built the pump in a few days and it was at the shop a week after ordering. They dont mess around.
Kenny, thanks for taking the time to give a detailed answer…. I’m in the hunt for a fuel pump now and their website is kind of a mess. I’ll hope to chat with them at PRI.

Give them a call. They were extremely easy to deal with. The salesman I spoke to was highly intelligent. Its so rare these days.
