While my old Bell helmet was still in date I made a point of trying on several helmets at vendors at races I attended.
So I knew a year in advance which helmets fit well and and were in my price range.
Helmets and seats vary in fit so much you really have to test fit a few of them to find a good fit.

Had a very good experience with Winding Road.
I had bought a new Stillo helmet with helmet blower and radio (mic and ear muff speakers) installed.
Both those systems had a glitch so WR sent my a free return shipping label and I sent the helmet back.
With in a couple days they fixed the issues at no cost and sent the helmet back.
Jason at the Austin Tx store was very helpful.
I will try to give them more of my business in future.

I have a basic helmet made by Zamp. I got it on sale at Speedway motors and it was even slightly less expensive than their house brand helmets at the time. It is an SA2020 helmet. It is a ton lighter than my old GForce helmet but not quite as pretty. I don't use a helmet all that often so a reasonable entry level price was a strong selling point. It fits well and hasn't caused me any problems at all. I'm more than happy with it.

My old Bell helmet was black and it worked fine.
During the last year or so the black finish which resembled plastic dip started to get tacky and began to deteriorate.
So this time I just went with a helmet that had a glossy finish.
Consider a helmet with Hans anchors too.

So far my racequip is doing OK. Just a plain old white one.

I have the Impact 1320. It's a nice, basic full face helmet with a good size eye port. I think the retail price was $369. It's my second Impact helmet, last one held up very well. Says made in USA on it.

I used to sell a lot of helmets.. no matter which brand you buy you want to try on the actual one your buying, the shells shrink randomly in manufacture even with the best ones.. Especially composites like fiberglass or carbon fiber. Resin mixing variances change the shrink rate.

At this point, Zamp is the best bargain helmet. Pyrotect is a nice helmet and shaped similar to Bell but cheaper.
