Default Racecar maintenance schedule??

I have been regularly bracket racing my car and wonder if anyone has a maintenance schedule that uses number of passes to determine when to do maintenance. Oil, tranny fluid, rearend lube, valvesprings, etc - any advice would be appreciated.

I drive the car very few miles on the street. I run synthetic 10W-30 (Royal Purple now, normally Amsoil) and regular ATF & gear lube. I have Crane dual springs (832's).

Thanks!

I don't know street type cars, I have a friend that does pro mud/sand drags, and he does plugs every pass ( alky+nitrous motor ) and oil every 3 passes, full car fluid change after every race day. You don't need that kind of maintenance, but I'd say every 20 passes would be a good idea for all the fluids toget swapped. I know I change the tranny fluid and rear end fluid in my car every spring, and the oil every 1500 miles, or after every trip to the track.

I change my oil/filter every other weekend. I change rear end and tranny fluids 2 times per year. I also rotate my slicks every 20 to 30 passes. I have my motor freshen up at the end of every race season.

Thanks for the replies!

Coach - you run synthetic oil? Looks like I need to step up my oil changes! My oil looks like brand new on the stick and the pressure is exactly where it was when the oil was new! I have about 35 passes on it.

Didn't know you should rotate slicks - what about ET Streets? Same?

I run Pennzoil 10w30 & a ac/delco truck filter. I do not know anything about ET Streets. I only run slicks.

Are you bracket racing this weeekend?

If I raced more often I would change my oil once a month... Maybe later in the summer I will do this.

No, this will be my first missed week in months - at the polite request of my better half, I am spending some time with her. I can't complain at all, she encourages me to do what I love week in and week out - I gotta great wife!

I have contacted Royal Purple to see what they say, but I think I am gonna go ahead and get it changed out! Better safe than sorry. I also think I'm gonna go back to my normal Amsoil 10W30 when I change it.

offtopic...
I wish I had a "Coach" here to help me! I have dialed my car to within a hundredth every elimination run for the past 5 Saturdays - it is extremely consistent - I just can't get on the tree! I'm all over the place trying to find my sweet spot.

I think it may be my lazy converter tripping me up. It is a soft hit to go easy on parts, but takes too long to react. If I leave on the last yellow, I am .60x's, if I try to anticipate the last yellow, I redlight.

That stuff don't cut it with the big boys in Class II (heavy) - they are tough!
I think if I start trying to stall it up another 500 or more rpm, it will soak up some of the stall time and help my reaction times off of the last yellow. I'll try it next week - sound right?

Thanks again all!

Maintenance schedule for my race car:

Before Every Race:
Check torque specs on rear suspension parts
Double check all shock settings
Inspect all tires, dimples/wear/pressure
Check lug nuts
Inspect engine bay
Empty the catch can from the vacuum pump

Every Other Race:
Check the lash on my T&D Rockers
Oil Change
-6 Quarts Royal Purple Racing 28
-K&N Oil Filter

End of Season:
New trans gasket
Fresh trans fluid
-Royal Purple ATF
Freshen rear end
-Check Ring/Pinion wear
-New gasket
-Fresh gear oil, Royal Purple MaxGear 75w90

I send my TH400 to JW for "freshening" every 2 seasons. And I will be sending my motor to FMS for "freshening" at +300 passes.

I don't run an air filter, if I did I would check that every other race. As for my slicks, I am replace them right at about 50-60 runs right now, My car likes a fresh set best.
