How much ET might I loose with a slipping convertor?
Got the convertor out & sent back to PI for an upgrade. The fluid was cherry, but had a slight burnt smell to it. I have flushed the tranny 4 times in 19000 miles, probably the only reason it has lasted about 200 hard runs on the stock tranny.
How much Et have I been loosing? A friend who is a GM tech is going to freshen it up, to get it ready for a few races this year, at minimal cost, so I'll know the extent ofthe damage soon. This might explain the loss in 60's, from 1.52 to 1.62.
Also, would this cause a loss of power on the dyno?
I cant afford a new tranny, so that will be the winter project. I believe I'm going with a T-400.

Usually the trannies slip Harold, so if we assume that your tranny has been a bit dead it can hurt your entire runs because it won't hold the power and it will shift sloppy.
If your converter is damaged, it can be a bad pump, messed up clutch disk, or ballooned.

Re: How much ET might I loose with a slipping convertor?
I meant to say slipping tranny, sorry. Convertor was sent in for freshening & upgrade. It has been a long time since the car shifted hard enough between gear to chirp the tires, and this is with a shift kit.
I dont think it is completely toast, but after so many runs, must be close. So would you say a few tenths loss? This would explain my loss of 60 & poor MPH on a H&C. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />
