Thanks dude. What kind of 60' should i be able to obtain w/ practice? I spin off the line pretty badly. Everyone says to "roll" onto the throttle, but its easier said than done Any tips? Thanks again!

Man I went to the track last night too.

here is a similar run......

72 degs
66% Humidity

R/T 1.652 (yes I was sleeping)
60' 2.259
330 5.830
1/8 8.731
MPH 85.17
1000 11.214
1/4 13.315
MPH 107.37

Or elevation was close too, so I don't know what's happening with you but I had bad 60' ft's too and am about .7 faster?

Default New guy here, with new track times.

Hi all. I went to the track last night, and felt that my times aren't what they should/could be. Any suggestions?

1st 2nd 3rd

r/t-- .975 1.179 .809
60'-- 2.31 2.29 2.41
330-- 6.19 6.16 6.24
1/8-- 9.32 9.29 9.35
mph-- 78.95 79.09 79.65
1000--11.90 11.86 11.90
1/4-- 14.20 14.15 14.18
mph-- 101.13 101.81 102.04

It was about 75 degrees, not very humid, and ~ 1350 ft. elevation. For an ls1 these times kinda suck. Any suggestions on how to break into the 13 sec. range? Before i mod my car,i want to learn how to drive it better. Opinions please? Thanks!

Welcome to the site. Try and get out to the track more often and practice, your 60 ft is really hurting you.

I run on street tires too. You can get your 60' down pretty easily with some practice. Also if you stage shallow and count O-N-E while you mash the gas that will reduce your spinning.

When I had the stock converter, real street radials (245 F1's), lid/catback, I cut high 1.9-low 2.0's consistently with zero track prep...

Thanks for the replys all. How are you cutting those times? I have shitty 235/55/16 goodyear eagle gt2's. This is just frustrating,b/c i know if i could cut at best a 2.0 60',i would be 13.5-13.8. any suggestions? Thanks again all!

Practice, Practice, Practice... And the above method. You will get it down there. Do you notice a lot of shaking when you leave the line? Dropping my tire PSI helped deal with that traction issue.

So many people say not to do burnouts or drop pressure on street tires, but if I didnt, my 60's instantly jumped to the top of the 2.1's. I would start out at ~22-24psi cold, put the shifter in 2nd, run through first gear real quick, and hold it for about 3 seconds at the top of 2nd, let it roll out while slowly letting off the gas until it hooks. Roll straight up to the tree, stage, and dont just punch it, but kinda "roll" into it, approx 1/2 - 3/4 throttle for the first 10 feet or so, and then mash once it would hook.

Worked for me

Edit: Yeilded me a 13.11 @ 107 with a lid/catback
