Default What are FLP's, Hotcam, and HPP3 worth?

Recently had the FLP's and Hotcam installed and took off to the track today to see what they were worth. End result? 4 tenths and 6 and a half mph improvement in trap speed! All with poorer sixty foots (2.1's and 2.2's instead of 2.0's) and weather that was that humid it was actually misting at times! Now these are the increases from my bests I got last year when I was running without KR (and 108+mph trap speeds). But my last trip out to the track, with KR having risen it's ugly head again this year, I was only trapping at 105-106, so that's an almost 10 mph improvement since last track visit with the additiion of the FLP's, Hotcam, and HPP3. Now that's where the HPP3 was a benefit to me ie the KR - that KR was killing my timing giving me advance in the teens and low 20's. Adding the HPP3 programing (non-RFG) gave me my timing back - averaging high 20's again. HPP3 tuning may not be of much help if your car is running the way it should timing-wise, but it certainly helped me! As good as the FLP and Hotcam may be, I don't see them as being responsible for almost a full 10 mph gain in trap speed from my last time out a couple weeks ago, and in poorer air at that (a lot of the track regulars running brackets were off their times by 1-2 tenths today).

So new bests for me of 12.94 and 115.29mph today and I AM a happy camper!!!

Whoa, a solid 60 RWH from the LT's and cam. at those trap speeds and a good sixty you are looking at low/mid 12's

Yep, that's the sorta ballpark figure I was thinking - from FLP's and the cam everyone loves to hate!

Work those 60's down and I see 12.0's in your future
I trap at 113mph and pull 12.3's with the weight of 3750 and Nitto's.So you have alot left

Yep, traction is my big challenge now *L*. My Nitto's are shot so that didn't help I know. Even aired down to 14 lbs I was spinning them on the 2-3 shift, first time they ever did that. So I had to give up powershifting and just granny shift. The power band feels a lot differ too, moved up a bit and the car pulls HARD right to redline now. How do you like the 3.73's? I was thinkg about going with 4.10's next spring, but with the way the car spins now I know those would be overkill. I'm thinking 3.73's with new DR's may be the ticket though?

ET aside though, the car is a LOT wilder to drive on the street now - at any kind of speed it just pulls like a freight train. I'm really pleasantly suprised with the 115mph traps with the stock intake/heads/and MAF, screen and all *L*. Had to take off the Whisper because it just wouldn't dial in after the cam/headers and the wacky part throttle Ltrims were throwing off the WOT settings too.

WOW thats awesome man! And you still have warranty to boot! heheheh
Cheers,

Get 4.10s and ET streets
With a gentle launch you'll be fine!

When you mentioned Whisper did you mean MAF ends?
I picked up 35RWHP midrange and 30RWHP peak from switching from ported MAF ends to stock descreened MAF.

Hey Chris, thanks! Yep, I meant the Whisper MAF - car runs much better on the stock MAF, go figure! I've got the winter now to think about which gears and "what comes next" . I want to see what the car will do in pure street trim - ie no big changes to make some runs at Clarenville. Just drive up off the highway, pull in and stage *L*.
