George, I'll give you a spot for each 10ci, and you can in turn spot me .10 for how much lighter you are, and .10 for the transbrake. So you will be 3200 right? I'll take .4 back, we are are a heads up race.

Technically Tony should give me .14 for the cube advantage.

Dave, no, but I figure the students might have picked up a few of their own along the way!

Seriously, there is going to be some GREAT competition at this event. NA 9s will be the norm in my class. The winner will be DEEP in the 9s. Should be exciting!

Maybe I'll just be the quickest NA car in the bracket event haha

Some of the lightweight guys may have a bit of work to get to 3500#s. I heard Mike H was getting Anna Nicole Smith to drive his car. Frank95z

I don't mind a little heads up action, but maybe I should get a local to find me those 70 lb tubes of sand for $2.50 each and equalize that out a bit, I'm not going heads up with a car that weighs like 3000 lbs. I'm gonna be at 3450 lbs I hope and I still have a heater and a radio. Or how about this, if you weigh 3000 lbs and I am 3500 I spray a 50 shot DRY and we go heads up.

You probably set it up to match your own car. This still doesn't change the fact that there are MANY other 400+ci LS1 owners that have these motors in their daily-driven, full weight cars. With these rules, you just assumed that all 400+ci cars were 3200# gutted TH350 trailer queens. Those are actually the minority....

George, even at 3500#, your car will still kick some *** in that class. Probably a top contender!

Also, how come there are seperate classes for stock manual and stock A4 tranny setups? I'm not afraid of running any A4 cars with a similar setup and weight. There is a HUGE gap between <400ci 3500# cars and all-out "Pro Stock" unlimited 3200# cars.

No matter the setup, an auto will typically run quicker. I'd bet that a lot of M6 guys wouldn't have entered if they knew they'd be up against a bunch of automatics with fat converters. The majority of the M6's with just a cam or stock internals still have the 10-bolt, and there's no way they'll be able to pull off some 1.5 or 1.6 60' times like the A4 guys. I think the turnout will be great for both auto and manual classes, and it will be cool to see who can really shift those stick cars.

No matter what, we all have to keep in mind that this event is for fun. We aren't always going to have a class that we can be competitive in. I drove 750 miles each way for the NFRA event just to run brackets. It turns out that I was pretty competitive. If you feel that you can't compete ET-wise for your appropriate class, then you'd better make your way to every T&T and bracket event between now and Nov. 2nd to brush up on your bracket racing skillz. There will be a few racers in brackets that will consistently run their dial and nail their light, so be ready!

Trevor, most of the quicker NA automatic cars are gutted. My times are easily comparible to any full-weight A4 big motored car with a 4L60E. If M6 guys want to compete, they should install a 12-bolt in my opinion. A4 guys spend $2K on a tranny upgrade, M6 guys spend that much on a rear. Its fair.

PS, you can ask the local guys how well this gear banger can hit the ET and the R/T. I'm not scared of non-driver automatics

This one isn't. Full interior for a change!

Full interior minus the rear seats is still required for this event, correct? So, there will be no theft recoveries.

Just out of curiosity, what is the quickest 4L60E all-motor LS1 running, with a 3600 lb or greater raceweight?

What is the best 60' time from a 3600 lb or more A4 all-motor car?

Just seeing how my lowly manual compares...
