Default Heading back to the track =]

After about 1 year of not racing my own car, I finally made this decision and began modding my car again. I have been track testing alot of my customers cars over this past year along with working crazy hours made me fall out inerest of doing anything to my own vehicle. I haven't even changed the oil in 7 months! I have some new ideas and some different things I want to try that I have learned over this past year and shoot for some low 11's first, than get serious with it. I am buying a new car in December so street and driveability won't be an issue anymore, BUT I will try to maintain as "off the street" chassis appearance as possible i.e. no theft recovery weight modding or no removal of safety equipment. I am installing a regular cage, nothin' special. I wanted to post this up and maybe my friends and all my customers can encourage me more into doing this all the way down into the 10's <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . I am bringing my own car down to the Southern Shootout along with three of my customers cars. Once I hit 11.25 to .30 I will share with everyone the modds I have done and hopefully it will be a good lesson/advise to the new guys on how to run quick in an A4, not nessesarily fast, then the quick and fast part will begin after I reach my first goal! BTW, There is someone that I really need to line up with at the track and take to the traps, That will give me more incentive to run even faster! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> .

Joe,There's NO DOUBT you can get into the low 11's with your knowledge.

First off your <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
Then u take a set of LT's,Stock catback/Cutout along with the VIG3600 I sold u,add a set of 3.73's,WELDS/Skinnies along with a K-member,A-arms/Tq arm,Control arms,Hals.Add the Wolf cage in CM and a set of your SMALL RUNNER/HIGH FLOW S1 heads with 10.8CR/TR224 cam.Shift it at 6400 MAX and the car will run 11.20 or better.

U and I both kno this same combo wouldve ran 11.20's in my car with u driving. Its gotta work in your car too,Plus your about 100lbs lighter than me right from the get go (T/A vs.Camaro)

U could still keep the seats in the car,PS,A/C and still run that number, there's no doubt in my mind...

Good luck <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I hear ya JS!
I think to begin with the K frame and A-arms may be a little extreme, I just want to tweak on it till I get about low 11's, than I will go a little more agressive with the whole set-up. Last year when I was at E-Town, I weighed my car and I was about 3,479? with a low fuel load and no spare tire, so yes, I do have a great weight benifit with a 80% optioned out SS and having no T-Tops is helpfull too! Thanks for the encouragement and I really want to do this now! My first stage consists of, FLP Long tube headers W/ORP, 3:73 gears, LS6 intake manifold, LS6 cam first just to see what i can do with it, then the TR 224 cam at the end of next week, ASP pully, Cat Back, *possibly a duel duel* but the cut out will work fine for now. Draglites M&T's W/skinnies and edit. I was thinking about the air box that Terry B. is running and it makes alot of sence actually. I think if I can get into the high 1.5X 60 foots, I can bust out some low elevens out of it, I am 1.62-4 right now on F1 street tires. The second stage consists of, 382 with S2 heads and a Comp 226 cam, Vig 4,200 stall, unless the Yank 4,200 stall is better? and with the above mentioned bolted on parts along with a 12 bolt with 3:73 gears.

Page 1 and 2 for me plz.

I think actually racing your own car will help re-inspire you and get you thinking about a whole line of other possible mods.

I know I personally get antsy and start going through withdrawal if I dont race every so often. But I hate it when my car is slower than it should be (hint hint Joe) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Good luck, keep us posted!

Glad to hear your feeling better and have a more positive attitude Joe. Maybe you can convince me to run my car again. Could be worth it to see if I can bust into the 11s on street tires and an ailing clutch with the 3.42s as well. Like you said, I'm just a good tune away from that goal right now.

Give me a ring one day this week about this weekend.
