Separation Springs
As I've been learning about Radial tyre suspension and the separation it needs, I've put a set of Afco Big Gun X radial shocks on my tube chassis build, the build weighs 3365lb's with me in and its 1500lbs rear, I put the shocks on and ride height with 1" showing of the shock shaft plus the bump stop rubber.
with some 100lbs 14" long spring in, winding the collar in so it compresses the spring 1/2" so it doesn't fall out when at full separation, with it back on the ground I have 2 1/2" until the bump rubber of shock shaft, I have ordered some 50 and 80lbs 12" long spring length, to see if its too high on the spring rate
My question is am I doing this correct?, there isn't many low lbs springs, and also I'm planning a new build soon and its going to be around 2300lbs so will I be able to get springs to suit this based on 100lbs being too stiff on 1100lbs heavier?
Thank You
