Headers? Size, length?

Looking for headers for my LS swap '84 Camaro. Powerglide, carb, bracket racing. Planning to stay under 6200 rpm.
I see mostly 1 7/8" x 3" collector. Should I go with long tube or will shorties work?

Long tubes whenever possible. Huge difference if you're making any power.
