Default m6 vs. auto

If a "streetable" h/c car with about 400-420rwhp, auto (that would mean 3.70's gear and 3000-4000 stall) was up against a "streetable" m6 car (good clutch, 4.11 gear) with the same rwhp................Who would win????

All things being =, including drivers, the m6 usually gets ripped outta the hole by the stalled a4. That advantage increases w/ power, especially on a well prepped track.

If R/T was the same the A4 should and most of the time will rape the M6 on a launch. I have seen some of these guys in M6's getting some low 60's. This is a speicle breed of driver. I am not one of them. Some of these guys are not what u would call consistan off the line though. It is a hard call though but my money is on the A4.

and it does it everytime.

I'd usually put my money on a properly set up A4 against a properly set up M6... mostly because of the hole shot.

The lowest 60' time I got so far (before my cam and pulley) was 1.75 on Nittos... we'll see what I can do with ET Streets and the cam as I'm taking my first track runs with them tonight.

On that 60 foot time, ill give you an example. I had an M6 in my 396, best 60' time I ever got, on slicks, was a 1.89. Which is horrible, im not good at driving an M6, I put a TH400 in it, with a 4400 8" stall converter, with no other changes, my best 60' to date is a 1.39. big difference.

On the street, I would definately put my money on the automatic car. This past friday we set out a m6 heads cam gas c5 vette on radials 7 car lengths with our automatic heads cam gas car and caught him before the 1/8 for a quick $400.

On a road course? No challenge - M6 all the way. The gear spread on the A4 is just **** for road racing.
