FYI some hood weights ASCD WS6 hood 41 lbs
Stock SS hood 54 lbs
I was at VFN Fiberglass and we weighed a bunch of stuff. I have a stock SS hood from a wreck but it was complete, we were shocked at how heavy it was.
Anyone have weight of stock Z/28 and stock T/A hoods? I read 47-48 lbs for a stock T/A hood.
We were designing the new 4" ram air hood, just having a discussion on the lines of the new hood. I think it will look pretty darn nice.

To some extent hoods will be heavy because so they won't flex and crack.
The SS hood and the ASCD hood are meant to hold up.

Re: FYI some hood weights ASCD= American Sports Car design, their WS6 hood is aftermarket, and probably the most popular one out there.
Shawn, so take off a few lbs for the hardware I took that all off when we weighed the hoods.
