I drive also. Not near as far as most of you, but it's never been trailered to the track. I can say that I have been lucky and never broke, but it always possible. See ya!!

Used to drive, but now trailor it. Why?
1) Changing to slicks and skinnies, in Texas heat, before racing makes me want to because of the heat. Ditto for changing back, plus add mosquitos for good effect.
2) Broke car once (driveshaft) and had to find an emergency trailer. That was enough for me.
3) You do not get the car hot driving there.
4) Getting all of the thumbs up from people when driving your trailered car there

why change tires? i drive up there on et streets and skinnies bust some good times out, and wack many of the trailered cars, and then drive it home. oh yea, its a daily driver too

the extra mileage on the et streets are still cheaper than a truck and trailer now im scared im gonna break though

Have you seen the Hottest new Aluminum Roll-Back trailer? No Ramps! and Slants down to a 5 degree angle that makes loading {even a dead car} and unloading so easy that you will kick yourself for dealing with the old fashioned kind. Roush Distict Manager for the Mid-west has been using one for 2+ years and you know how low to the ground he is.

My favorite track is about 2hrs from home and I always drive. If I had a truck & trailor I would use it.The car never cools completly from the drive when its warm outside.I did trailor the old T/A up to New Jersey for 12 second LT1 bloton shootout.

I've always driven my car to the track. Once, I broke the crankshaft. No question, towed home. I had a little bet with some friends after I installed my new engine, that I could drive it to the track and back with no problems, even with the new power level. Hoping for 11.50's or quicker, I took it on regular radials. I had no tire concerns at all for the trip and it easily made it there and back, so I did it again two nights later. After all the heckling from my friends, I ran 11.20's the 1st night. I traded to ET Streets anyway. 1.8 60's didn't suit me! I plan to start trailering it now.

I drive to the track on ET Streets and skinnies. I'm lucky MIR is about 20 miles away, Capital 30, Cecil about 100. I don't want to change tires at the track and don't care if I'm wearing the tires out a little quicker by driving to the track with them. Just don't want to get caught in the rain with ET Streets.

LOL I should of said I would rather another sports car. Buying a truck and trailer soley for the purpose of drag racing is not economical for me. Fast street cars rule.
