Default I'm done.....(need advice)

for the season......

well after an awesome day of running 11.7's on sunday, i wanted to take advantage of what seemed to besome decent weather. i mean, late at night it was getting friggin cold. I was so excited and was hoping to run a new best for my bolt on record chase.

So i get to the track and it's pretty dead. get up for my first pass, and it was a 12.0x at 112.5mph w/ a 1.8 60ft. so there was plenty in it if i could hook. well track prep sucked and the next pass was a 12.2 @ 112mph on a 1.9 60ft. So i waited a while and let the car cool down. There weren't any big tire cars for me to follow. only street tires and imports . So after an hour i got back in line and i ran a 12.3 @ 109mph. hmm, wonder why it shot down like that? 60ft was a 1.79sec. hopped back in line and got up for my burnout. and then it happened....

car started clunking a bit and lost all power coming out of the burnout, and then died. It was my first time ever in 4 years of racing of ever having something happen. so i shut it off completely and got out. nothing was leaking quite yet, and it still rolled, so it wasn't the rear end. so we roll it over into the pits and BradWS6 was there. So i stopped over by him. at first since there was nothing leaking, and the car would go dead light wise if i tried starting it, we thought it was the battery. but that couldn't really explain the clunking? so thanks to him, and i owe him a GREAT deal, he let me try to jump my car off of his. still nothing. so alright, let's jack up the car a bit. i took off the starter inspection cover piece, and looked up with a flashlight. the starter gears were locked up against the flexplate. oh alright, let's just drop the starter and let the pressure off and try to start it. that could be what the clanking was. so do that, put it back up, and try to start again. nothing, would just lock up. so looked at the starter and it was jammed again. well now is when i start noticing the fluid dripping out of the car. steam is coming out of the bellhousing. well THAT isn't good. so i take the starter out again, and get the gear back inside the housing. i then have someone turn the key and the starter works perfectly when not attached to the car. again, NOT good. so brad goes to look at the dipstick tube and it won't come out. oh crap, that isn't good either. another thing is that when i turn the key to the "on" position, the oil pressure guage reads 0. any thoughts on that? so i spent $200 to have my car towed back. on a sidenote, i think a personality should be a requirement when getting a job as a flatbed driver. just tried striking up convo since my house was 45 minutes away. 5 minutes in i gave up .

So now the car is out on my driveway bleeding to death. I have no idea what the hell happened or why it happened. i JUST put the converter in two weeks ago and it had been running fine. ike i said, iw as at the track on sunday blasting of my new personal bests.

so here's the question time... anyone have somethign similar happen? even just a little bit. any thoughts on what it could be? i'm scared cause of the dipstick not coming out. that just confuses me too?

and now on to the advice part... what you guys think i should do? i mean this bolt on race thing was pretty fun, but i like going fast. that's all that is important to me. so you guys think i should just find a stock shortblock(if that so happens to be bad) and keep on doing the bolt on thing, or should i just do the motor up fully? as for the trans, i always wanted a TH400 in it, so i'm not really concerned about that, 'cept for the fact i just spend $550 for this converter and the rebuild when it was stalled down to a TP4400 from the UT4800. Maybe i'll do the 200R4 conversion Weather Guy did.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks also for listening ot my rant

Chris

When you turn the car off, the guage will slowly decend... When you turn the car to on but don't start it, the guage will read 0...

Sorry to hear about your mishap...

I hate to say it, but it definately sounds like the motor is locked up. Been there, done that, and yes, it sucks.

The most likely reason it won't spin is a broken piston cocked in the bore, or something else where it shouldn't be.

Get the motor out of the car and start tearing it down.

sweet, guess i should follow in your footsteps, although i'd be bypassing the 10sec head/cam setup and going straight for the big one
