Default Do Hal Springs suck on the street?

I have seen all the horror stories about terrible floating and bouncing with the Hal Springs when using the Hal front shocks. Is nose dive really that bad? Ive read everything up to oil pans almost scraping....

When on the street you should set them a little stiffer. And if you smack the brakes even at low speeds with the shock settings too low, yeah....nosedive. I hit my front air deflector a few times.
But you can't beat the weight transfer. Just a downside to getting out of the hole quicker.

Do you have to jack up the spring height to get good enough spring rebound? I want to keep my lowered stance that I have with my lowering springs. Using the Hal springs, how much lower than stock can you go?

you can go very very low, like air damn on the ground low.

my car is very low with the hal setup, my air damn is prolly 2 inches off the ground.

i just keep them real stiff when on the street to avoid scraping on stuff

Here is how my car is setup with Hal shocks and springs up front, and Hal shocks and stock springs out back.

I'm running the R series QA1 shocks and springs set at 1 all the time and havn't had any nose dive or swaying problems on the street..The 90/10 valving of the R shock helps alot with that...

Default Front springs

You can also run a little heavier rate spring on the street to help with this problem.

I just recently made the switch from the regular HAL's to the R series HAL's and nosedive/float are no longer a problem.

You might try out the stock springs before buying another set. You would just have to enlarge the spring perch hole by about 1/8" to use the stock springs with the hal shocks. I am running the stock springs - the hals are way to soft especially since my car has an additional 60 lb up front due to a turbo kit.
