Terry, when I was having problems with this engine, and I posted my problems, you referred to this 396 engine as a CUTTING EDGE RACE ENGINE and I should expect to have problems with such an engine.
How convenient to change the discription of this same engine to suit your pimping needs.

LS1's have come a long way in a year. I was kinda joking with the mild part (note the winkey), but now that I've put ~600 street miles on it I can tell you its not as radical as I thought it would be.
Why such a small cam BTW? I can see why you didn't run great MPH. The power drops off hard at 6800rpm but with your gearing/converter you needed to pull to ~7300rpm to run big MPH. With 4.10s/26" slicks and a tighter converter I'm overgeared for it. Hoping a cam swap will fix that.

Hey George what kinda 1/8th mile times do you run? Your car is my new model for how I'd like to run, only with out the tranny headaches.

Just like I said, how convenient.

Nonetheless, congrats on the new best.

Does it really count as a year if the motor didn't run in that period? Mine is slowly coming along...looks like I might be able to pick it up soon. Project no compression is almost rolling again.

Right now with the TH400, it's a little quicker on the first half of the track, but drops off more on the 2nd half due to the heavier less efficient 400.
TH400 footbrake - 6.46 @ 105mph best
A2 transbrake - 6.51 @ 105.7mph best

Terry, I can't break a tranny in a car that doesn't run. I am more concerned that this motor will NEVER be relaible than I am about running as fast as you are. This was supposed to be a mild 388, that could be driven on the street. The longest it has lasted is ~300 miles.
