I saw Madmans runs Fri and Sat. The car is wicked fast. If that car would have left straight and run straight the whole runs, it would have been faster.
BUT,,,,,,,,,, we can't compare apples to oranges.
Congrats to both Madman and ARE for their 2 seperate records.

Re: Who Really is the Fastest?? im prolly talking outta line here but....oh well,madman called out ARE,a main sponsor on this site,he is also a sponsor on this site.he wanted to see who had the fastest 4thGEN CAR.he meets the weight rules,the suspension rules,he is FUEL INJECTED.he never said hes got the fastest ls1!did he?his comments were a hair outta line maybe.but thats raceing.he claims the fastest 4th gen cars,not old 80s loads.i dunno but equal weight,tire,suspension,i think he has LESS cubic inches.and youre both fuel injected cars!sounds fair to me.i credit ARE for the first ls1 in the 8s(an awesome feat).madman even gave props for that.but he wanted to see whoed get down the qtr qwiker.that was the challenge.he has the faster fuel injected 4th gen,for now,hes got braggin rights.now turn up the wick and put his tail between his legs.and even worse,do it with the ls1!!!!BTW i am personally more impressed by the ARE car myself.but he (madman)is a hair faster!for now....when a mustang gets out run he says"youve got bigger cubes"we say"too bad,not my fault you gotta 302"thats the standard reply.but when a stang runs 10.00@130 and a f-bod runs 10.50@135 we say"i just cant leave like those fox-bodys",guess what......make a change..get him back!thats drag raceing.

Re: Who Really is the Fastest?? I think this is all going to far ... there are obviously two camps parted on opposite sides and there will be no resolution. MM & company will run what they have and call for bragging rights and the other side will say it isn't a fair comparison. Does everyone think there will be a resolution by a proliferation of posts?
The debate over fruit salad is one thing, but the personal insults, unprofessional behaviour and puiblic embarassment is more disturbing to me.

Re: Who Really is the Fastest?? i know what a rocket block is,but i(think)i remeber him posting it is 400ci.thats all.i agree his combo is capable of more power(because of the r-r on the older stuff),but i think the origanal intint was a friendly grudge race to see whos CAR was quicker.i agree the ARE car is more impressive.AS with most grudge raceing there is always the if-and-or-buts.theres a winner and a loser.i think the posts by biased people are making this alot worse than it meant ot be.

bottom line in racing, there is always someone faster out there, its all in how much money you want to spend. lets see how fast colonel's car is when its finished...that chicken bucket holds alot of cash <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

This web site’s fastest car is the 8.92 of ARE. If the COLONEL or someone else breaks this record with a LS1/LS6 or C5R then they will be the fastest LS1.

So, why then do you people keep saying Madman had an unfair advantage by running an engine that is supposed to be inferior? So what if he did it with older technology. ****, that should be even more impressive in some ways. What about when Colonel comes along and busts *** with a full-race C5R engine. How can you compare that engine with a stock block LS1? YOU CAN'T. That C5R has a different block, different heads, etc. I don't get it. Some people are just die-hard ARE fanatics and can't bring themselves to admit that a car went faster. Now they try to bring up bullshit about how he went faster, but it wasn't fair because.....Both cars had nitrous, and isn't that the leveling agent with all cars? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Anyway, congrats to everybody.
BTW, everyone has been ragging on Madman about his comments....I'm sure they were all in fun. I mean, how many times have you told a buddy to bring it on and called them names? I know I've talked a lot of **** to friends before, no difference here.
