Default Thunder Shootout Rocked!

I just want to thank all of the organizers and everyone that helped out to get that event to run so smoothly. I know the Thunder Staff would have rather been racing, but someone had to handle the chores.

I met a TON of LS1Tech members, saw a ton of awesome races, and ran the hell out of my Formula. I'm not kidding, I had to have made at least 20 passes yesterday! The good news is that the "Cannibal" didn't miss a beat, and is still in one piece

I had the best race in a loooong time in the bracket racing finals, I was beat on the tree (.541 vs .571) and my competitor and I both ran 0.01 off our dial-ins (I ran 10.70 on a 10.69 dial). Our cars were literally door-2-door at the finish line. Simply awesome!

Best pass of the day: 10.67 @ 128 (1.49 60')
Best mph of the day: 128.99 mph
Raceweight: 3605-3611 lbs (oink oink!)
60' times were all in the 1.47-1.52 range
R/T in bracket event were all .5XX
I also drove my car (on the 18s) to the track

I also entered the Pro Stock event, but was severely outclassed by SAM's SS (9.7s), BeaSSt (9.9s), and GeorgeC (10.0s). My car looked out of place in that field, lol! 4th out of 4!

Pro Stock John had car issues (typical!) and he never lined up with me. His goal at this shootout was to take me down, hehe.

Special thanks to my pit crew (Dad and Greg "Fast4.8")

Good to see everyone again!

PS, Sanders is gonna rag on me for missing a gear on 4 runs. Damn synchros were keeping me in lockdown. One of them was a new best 1/8-mile pass and I would have ran a new best 1/4-mile had it gone into 4th. Thats okay, I still ran high 10s even blowing those shifts lol. 10.82 @ 123 anyone? hehe

Now its time to go get the car out of track mode. Swap the wheels/tires and put the normal belt back on. Thats it! haha

Allan, my T56 strategically locked me out of gears on bracket passes that I didn't need to win. Two redlight passes and a breakout. Pretty funny, huh?

The final event race was worth it though, that one couldn't have been any closer.

Justin, nice SS wheels!

Hey, Tony we raced in the brackets (2nd round) and saw you had problems shifting and I thought I had it won but I (broke out) should have hit my brakes. I let off a good 100' towards the end to make sure I did not break out. Now I wished I stayed in it could have been my best pass ever.
Alway's next year, congrats on the win.

Congrats on the runner up finish.

I know how you feel about missing shifts.

I missed 5 this weekend. It cost me some money this weekend. I think that we have figured out what the problem is. The Hot Rod is at MADMANS being fixed.

Lookout this weekend at HRP!

PS. Thanks for the stickers. I did find a place for them.

I had an awesome time meeting everyone. The car that I really wanted to have there just could'nt make it in time, kinda depressed me but I still had a blast.

Fri. night when we arrived to the hotel everyone was in the parking lot partying!! Nine Ball's trailer looked like a bottle recycling center!

I was really impressed with the track. NO PROBLEM RACEWAY IS THE BEST HOOKING TRACK I'VE EVER SEEN.

We left the track and went out to eat and when we returned to the hotel everyone was already asleep. What the hell was that???? It was only freakin 9pm? I WAS PISSED! Where were all the hardcore "Party Animals"? Nine Ball, PSJ, Slomaro, WTF? We wanted to drink some more and talk more sh*t!!

Can't wait till the next one. I'm bringin my car for sure.

I know I enjoyed watching Tony beat the crap out of his car. Not sure how you kept sneaking in runs, but damn you made a bunch! Tony and Coach was two of my favorites!

Tony it was a blast. It was finally nice to meet you and your car is SICK FAST!! In race trim it looks so docile, but watching it go down the track was very impressive.. I missed seeing the fat wheels on the car.. I wanted to come out and party, but lack of sleep took me back to the hotel.. Next time I come to an event I am going to have a extra driver.. 10 hours one way by yourself sucks.. Thanks again for showing up. It is really good to meet the REAL FAST guys on the board.

Tony represented Houston and MTI very well IMO. Tony was one of the faster cars out there that ran his *** off and didn't brake anything.
EXCELLENT JOB TONY

Congratulations, Tony! I hate I gave away the semi final round by not getting on the brakes nearly hard enough, but I'd much rather have given it to you than some other people I wish you hadn't missed that gear... it would have been very interesting at the stripe. I would have broken out still, but it would have looked good
