I paid ~$26500.00 for my car and I am NOT gonna tear it apart just to run a #. But that's me. There is a wide open definition on what is a "street" car.

George would run 10.2's all day with full interior in his car if he wanted. (carpet, 4 seats in the car)

That isnt what I'd call a tin can rattle trap. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I've done the whole theft recovery thing before. Managed to have a raceweight of about 2985 when I ran the 9.82. Only thing in the car was the dash and my plastic seat! <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" /> I put the full interior minus rear seats back in for the MMRA event. I don't think I'll be gutting again for awhile. The only way I can see doing it is if I were REALLY close to runnning NA 8s.

The challenge now is to see how light I can get the car while keeping the interior looking nice. I think my raceweight is now (well, after the powerglide goes in) about 2965. The interior looks just like it did at the MMRA event minus the passenger's seat. So, I actually weigh less than my theft recovery weight while looking nice on the inside at the same time! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I think I can still get another 222 lbs out without taking away from the looks of the car for a raceweight of 2743. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

RAGEman, my car would be a great example of what you're talking about. I'm lighter than just about any gutted looking car out there but I don't look like it. To take a casual look at my car you might think my raceweight was more like 3465 than 2965.

At the shootout, I ran a 10.11 @ 131mph with all of the interior in the car (except a back seat), a just under the 3200lb. weight requirement (after taking out the little bit of "ballast" I had in the car.

The only difference in my recent 10.0's was !carpet and !passenger seat, plus a little better weather.

Well I'm packing up my game and I'm a head out west
Where real women come equipped with scripts and fake breasts
Find a nest in the hills chill like BURGER
Buy an old LEAKING BLOCK and find a spot to pimp
And I'm a TERRY BURGER it up and down your block
With a bottle of scotch and watch lots of crotch
Buy yacht with a flag sayin' chillin the most
Then rock that bitch up and down the coast
Give a toast to the sun, drink with the stars
Get thrown in the mix and tossed out of bars
Sip the Tiajuana ...I wanna roam
Find the old town chillin fools then come back home
Start an escort service, for all the right reasons
And set up shop at the top of four seasons
TERRY BURGER and I'm the real mccoy
And I'm headin' out west sucker...because I wanna be a NINEBALL baby
With the top let back and the sunshine shining
PSJ baby
West coast chillin with the Boone's Wine
I wanna be a JOE KIZZIRE baby
Ridin at night cause I sleep all day
TOM THE ROOFER baby
I can smell a LEAKING BLOCK from a mile away
I bet you'll hear my whistle blowin when my train rolls in
It goes (whistle) like dust in the wind
Stoned pimp, stoned freak, stoned out of my mind
I once was lost, but now I'm just blind
Palm trees and weeds, scabbed knees and rice
Get a map to the stars, find MMS
And if the price is right I'm gonna make my bid boy
And let Cali-for-ny-aye know why they call me
TIM98TA baby
With the top let back and the sunshine shining
JAVA baby
West coast chillin with the Boone's Wine
I wanna be a COLONEL baby
Ridin at night cause I sleep all day
MIKEY baby
I can smell a LEAKING BLOCK from a mile away
Yeah...TERRY BURGER...you can call me Tex
Rollin sunset woman with a bottle of Becks
Seen a slimmy in a Z28, rolled down my glass
And said, Yeah this dick fits right in your ***
No kiddin, gun slingin, spurs hittin the floor
Call me Hoss, I'm the Boss, with the sauce in the horse
No remorse for the sherrif, in his eye I ain't right
I'm gonna paint his town red, and paint his wife white HUH
Cause chaos, rock like Amadeus
Find West Coast TERRY for my Detroit RACERS
Mack like mayors, ball like Lakers
They told us to leave, but bet they can't make us
Why they wanna pick on me...lock me up and stored away my key
I ain't no G, I'm just a regular failure (LIKE MY BLOCK)
I ain't straight outta Compton I'm straight out the trailer
Cuss like a sailor...drink like a Mick
My only words of wisdom are just, Radio Edit
I'm flickin my Bic up and down that coast and
Keep on truckin until it falls into motion
Cowboy
With the top let back and the sunshine shining
Cowboy
Spend all my time at Hollywood and Vine
Cowboy
Ridin at night cause I sleep all day
Cowboy
I can smell a LEAKING BLOCK from a mile away
Cowboy
With the top let back and the sunshine shining
Cowboy

Thanks for the mid-afternoon entertainment, Mir!

I wonder where this thing will go next?

this is the dumbest debate around ... but Joe likes to stir it up

9ball, great PS work, is that Burger with the white necklace? LMAO Hey, wanna see what $325K buys you in Southern Cali? I have a picture at home, it is hilarious, looks like what the Clampets moved out of in Arkansas to settle in Beverly. $325K buys you about 2,800 sf of custom built home and 5 acres here. I laughed my *** off when he pulled the "I bet I make more money then you" statement, wonder how many times that won anything other than a laugh.

Terry, salary is relative to where you live. If you live in a city/state/etc. with a higher cost of living, the salaries are generally a little higher. Thats normal. I know engineers that are making $75K in California, but that basically gets them a $40K lifestyle in Houston. Los Angeles vs Houston is 2x the cost of living, so I would have to make twice my salary to live the same lifestyle in Los Angeles compared to Houston.

So, what ends up happening is guys in CA actually make more salary, but live a worse lifestyle. They don't pay 2X the salary just because the cost of living is 2X. Don't worry though, because New York City has 4X the cost of living of Houston and they pay less. haha.

Cost of living only really effects your house or rent. Cars and engines (the majority of my spending!) cost around the same anywhere you go. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
