Anyone from this forum go to the Clash of the Titans @ RCR past weekend? There were some FAST cars there!! Just wondering if anyone from our crowd of racers went.

Re: Anyone from this forum go to the Clash of the Titans @ RCR past weekend? I went! It was awesome. Got to see Dan Millen break the record on 10.5W tires and also watch Murillo do that nasty wheel stand on his 2nd qualifying pass. I didn't get to watch all of it, but what I watched was cool...

Re: Anyone from this forum go to the Clash of the Titans @ RCR past weekend? Id really like to come down and attend one or two of their races next season. Im not sure what class Id fit best into but there are a couple that I might be able to make the field for. LOL

Re: Anyone from this forum go to the Clash of the Titans @ RCR past weekend? I was there. I ran True Street 12.00-12.99 index. Made the semi final round and lost to the Black 55 Chevy Bellair. Here's the breakdown of the run:

I was slightly on the brakes at the end praying he was about to break out, but he didn't. That .05 in reaction time gave him a little over a fender on me from the get go and I just couldn't pass him up without breaking out.
FWIW my car ran an 11.88 in the time trial, 11.95 slightly on the brakes in the first round, 12.09 fender racing the second round, then the 11.999 against the 55 in the third. He went on to win that index class.
My buddy Alex Mandy won the overall fastest True Street Class and set the new record for the true street event with a 9.55 pass. Since this was the first Clash that 9 second cars actually participated in, he won the points series as well. Got a 5' tall trophy, $260 (pro rated since there weren't 16 cars) and will get a Clash of the Titans jacket.
The event was a lot of fun and there were some pretty darn fast cars. Lots of which kept taking out the middle cones/reflectors by crossing the lines with lack of traction. Heard them say they set a record for the most cones/reflectors taken out during an event.
