Tony dont take offense to this but what is your hangup on LS1/LT1 only racing?

There are other EFI f-bodies out there LIKE ME making an effort towards the same goal.

Sure would be nice to see the guys who have a larger group of active entusiasts (4th gen guys) supporting those of us who dont have a 4th gen but still have the same goals.

 

I agree Guido BUT we are on LS1TECH so these races are going to be geared towards them.
Unfortunately everytime someone puts these races on evryone wants a class of their own. Hell the Spring Break Shootout my car was totally excluded and this race is 2 hours from here.
If the promoters of these races would get together and make one set of rules AND set them in stone for a year then make changes. If they would do this I could see the benefit of changing my combination to fit the rules.

You bring up good points Brian. I hate pissing everyone off with my suggestions but I see these races going on and I think how similar my car is setup chassis wise and we are all limited by small tires and stock suspension. Why exclude?

When you set up a race though you have to think about everyone, like Tony was talking about the most participation. When you have all heads-up classes you have to have all these rules and restrictions on weights and what tires you can run on, and that is no fun at all. Like I said before, I like the idea of index racing because it's not based on what you have done to your car.

 

I vote for pro tree, heads up grudge racing, with run-watcha-brung. No weight restrictions, no leagality safety BS. (Call it Street Racing Class)

The Thunder Shootout was not about engines, it was more about vehicles (F-bodies). The Spring Break Shootout showcases engines that are covered on this site. This is why we are allowing LS1/LT1 based trucks, Corvettes, F-bodies, and hybrids to participate. Its not about excluding nice setups like yours or Madmans, its simply about supporting the format of this site. We are based on specific engine platforms here, not vehicle body styles.

I think you have an awesome project going, and would love to see it run sometime. Maybe the next Thunder Shootout in Nov?
