New Best!!!!!!!!!
Last night I ran a new best. Here is my time.
60' 1.64
1/8 7.79
MPH 85.6
I did this through closed factory exhaust. I usually run with the cut out open but I decided to close it to see what the car would run like with a little more back pressure. Normally I cut 1.74-1.76 60' times with a rare 1.69. After closing the cutout all of my 60' times are in the 1.6 range.
My car has been running mid to upper 7.8's with the MPH in the 87-88 mph range.
Why do you think my mph has dropped even though my time was better? Could it be because I closed the exhaust?
What kind of 1/4 time do you think that would be?
My car is a 01 Ws6 A4 vert.
My mods are:
3.73
G2 lid
85mm MAF
vig2800
FRA
HPP3 for shift points
SLP ory-pipe
Thanks, Larry

Re: New Best!!!!!!!!!
It is the exhaust....I learned the hard way about airflow. After a year of chasin 11's thru stock Z28 exhaust and endless 110 MPH timeslips I bought a cutout. MPH went to 116.
By capping the exhaust you add more backpressure thus more torque===better 60's.
Sounds like time for a bigger converter. Especially in a WS6 vert. Thats gotta be a pig. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

BTW: congrats on the times
