Another new best, getting really close now!!!!
The weather wasn't great, but not bad, either. DA hovered around +180ft. all night. The only change I've made recently has been sealing the airbox lid a little better (a la duct tape). Well, something must be working because the car was on last night.
My first pass off the trailer through the mufflers was a 10.12 @ 132mph. After dumping the mufflers, I proceeded to go for a 9 second timeslip again.
Here's the timeslip from the best pass of the night:

After the 10.02, I did pull a few more pounds out of the car (center console, rear hatch divider thingie, rear speaker panels), and upped the 2-step from 3800rpm to 4400rpm. I made 2 passes in that trim. On the first, the car pulled a nasty wheelstand and came down a little out of the groove, so I aborted the run (not worth hitting the wall ). On the 2nd, it spun to a 1.42 60', and I shut it down at the 1/8th mile.
I may be able to find another race or two to go to before I yank the motor out for a freshening, so a 9 sec. pass may still happen for my 'lil 2.02 valved 382cid ARE motor. I think I may have accidentally learned a thing or two last night that may help out a little as well. I'll wait until the next outing to see what happens... Another rear tire change may be in the works, though
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!
Edit: what the **** is a winderfull Thanksgiving?!?!?!?!

Thanks, Tony! My neighbor was impressed with your car last night. He's wondering what you done to it (he was in a red 98 A4 Z28). He's on the board, if you want to just post it here. I think he wants to get some more weight out of the car without spending a lot of money and/or sacrificing driveability.

The weight reduction I performed didn't help at all that night so I put everything back. The big thing was the short belt, it was good for almost 2 tenths. Also I’m getting constant 1.9x 60ft with my RSA’s I guess the LCA brackets are doing there job. Hopefully there will be some good air Friday and maybe I can get a 12.60 or so.

You could always go run the Sportsman Open in Orlando on the 13th-15th of December. They are having a bracket race on saturday night I believe.

A little better air or a touch more weight redux would have done it... you'll get it.
Keep swinging... you'll land that haymaker yet!
