Why is my car so slow ?

ok guys, i ran my best ever of a 13.49 @ 104. I was hoping to run at least a 12.90. 13.4 is a tad on the slow side for even a bone stock ls-1. I have mac headers, dr gas x-pipe, lid, k&n, ported MAF, NGK plugs, thundervolt wires, ram air hood. I didn't spin hardly at all and had a 2.14 60' time. Why isn't my car nearly as fast as other's with similar mods. I know this is not nearly enough info about my car but i dont even know where to begin with why it would be like this.

OK. Thats a better time than I turned, but I think you need some tunning. Get or check your timing and air/fule ratio and you should have a low 13 or high 12 sec. car if you have good traction off the line. A 2.14 60 ft. time sounds alright.(A hella lot better than my 60ft. time) Remember a car with money invested in mechnical upgrades is nothing without a tune job to make the set up work together. The best cars have alot of brains into the motor but if the motor is not tunned to meet the potential of the parts you have nothing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Thanks for the info bro. I just hate to put down $500 for a tune job with just the few bolt ons that i have. I plan on doing a TC/Head/Cam setup over winter/spring and was just gona wait and get it tuned after all that. I know LS-1 edit would take care of all of that, but i know almost nothing about the program.

Well I have a 98 Z28 with lid,filter,bullet muffler,plugs and wires and went 13.20 at 107mph with a 2.00 60'. Your sixty foot should be 2 flat. How are you lauching this thing? I leave off idle for best results in my application! Tuning is a must for you now.

You need traction!

2.14 60ft is horrible!

Get to the track and practice. Even with a 6spd you should be turn 1.9 60ft's.

It has a lot to do with the track you race at. Here in GA there is a track in north GA and its 3 tenths slower that the one in south Ga. It has a lot to do with elevation and weather conditions. I'm not positive if its the elevation that makes a big difference but thats what I've been told plus the track gets better traction. I just wanted to tell you this it's probably not your car it where you race it.
