isn't it possible for someone else on the supra forum to go by the same name? anyway, there is one guy here in houston w/a blk mr2 that is unbelievably fast. i don't know what exactly he's done to it, but his alias is 25psi. if this is the same guy, i don't see why it's not feasible for him to have a supra also. it's not like they're 50k each.

Hey, those few mods and that low cost to get a Supra to run 12's once is wasted cash, unless the idea is to build it to last and run at least fairly consistent passes soon thereafter. "within .4" sucks, to be honest. I can, and have done better without slicks, on back to back runs, which is why I can also say that sucks. The reason it's wasted money though, is because you could buy a ZO6 or 03 Cobra and run mid 12's with nothing done at all and while you're at it, you could outhandle the Supra too. Granted, the used Supra cost less but, it's worth less too, so that evens out.

I like to see cocky guys talk about "slowstangs" and other cars that have proven to be faster than imports, thousands of times. It only makes me wonder where they get their information.

Let us know when you REALLY see a 1500hp Supra and we'll get back into the "stock internals" lie... Sure, 1,000 can be done... Another 500hp though? I don't happen to buy that one even a little bit. And when you see that superduper Supra, keep in mind that there are still several more powerful Mustangs out there, and not by just a few hp.... Over 500 more hp.

Back to the original story. He can post a laughable story about a POS import if he likes. We know he's only pickin' on the slow cars... SO? He never mentioned a Supra in that post. Nor did he mention you. You just want to play the role of "defender" of "Captain Obvious" and point out it's stock. SO?

The fact is, it's SLOW. So slow, that my Grand Marquis OR F-250 could easily outrun it(by more than 1 full second). One weighs nearly 4100 lbs and the other, over 5700 and BOTH are stock and BOTH have a minimum 5 passenger capability and BOTH can haul a trailer with a class III hitch holding it... Hell, the hitch alone, would make most imports squat... Defending them isn't wise. People shouldn't be stupid enough to race them if they don't want others laughing about it. BTW, you're another MAG RACER if you expect to see a 13.8 second ET from the 2810 lb S2000.... Let's see, it has about 1/2 the torque of a stock MustangGT and about 20less fwhp (30+less rwhp easily) and they make their power at rpm exceeding 6500.... Yeah, that's likely to run right alongside a GT... NOT! Try 14.40's on a VERY good pass. I've only seen one race though, so I can't judge them all... I'd better not though, since that one only ran 14.7-8 all night.

Please go elsewhere to spread propaganda about imports. Guys with inherently quicker cars just don't wanna see it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> Nobody minds you posting, we just don't need another hero for brands sake. I saw a Supra run 10.01@137 one night. Impressive indeed. However, the trailer awaited. No tags, just drags (slicks, that is). It was quick but, seriously, race ONLY. And it took the guy about a full minute just to stage the car. In a real race, in actual competition, anyone with a slower car could have simply staged and waited for that car to foul for not lighting the bulbs. He made 4 passes, all in the 10's and all, taking nearly a full minute to stage and that's AFTER the burnout, which naturally required spinning the tires well past the 60' mark (something not allowed in comp. for cars slower than 8's, from what I've seen). Pretty little smoke show... It musta sucked for him to look over and notice(3 times of 4) American muscle in the other lane, in the form of a 1970 Chevelle. That car ran 9's 3 passes in a row and never passed the tree for a single burnout. Of course, it was beyond the 330' before the Supra budged, making it look like the *** whoopin' it was in all 3 rounds.
