What I don't like about that, is knowing that track officials are jackass' at more than my normal track! You'd THINK, in the interest of saving time, which they're(announcers) often complaining about, they'd pair up the 16+ second cars with LIKE cars and allow the quicker cars to race each other. It gives the racer a reason to concentrate and saves the track much time.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Are u happy that your stock ls1 runs almost the same quarter mile as a stock s2k which is 13.8 101. Thats something to be proud of. Someone with 40-50 more hp and 150 ft lbs of torque should be doing better than that right? Why would u even post something like that. Would u want me to put my quarter mile times up to yours my mid 10' to your almost 14's. Thats pathetic, it doesn't matter how many cubic inches r how many cylinders u have for instance, rotary which is equivalent to a 1.3 liter pushes out over 600hp. Which would be the same as 3000hp on a big block. As u can see motors r getting smaller and smaller becuase people see the same potential as a 1.8 to 5.7

when top fuel goes 4.40's with an 80 cubic inch rotary you MIGHT have a case. yeah you can make tons of power with a small motor with HUGE boost and deep pockets. you say why race a 3500lb car i say why race with a gutless motor? same potential from a 1.8? what n/a or turboed 1.8l motor can make as much as a maxed out sbc or ls1? ive never seen a naturally aspirated 1.8l motor make 750 horsepower or a turboed 1.8l motor make 1500hp. also rotaries are banned from racing regular 4 stroke motors because they make more power than them per displacement because they have twice as many combustion cycles to compare them you need to double the displacement. but regardless of their abilities a 1.3 liter motor is still a 1.3 liter motor. bigger IS better no matter what sport compact car would have you believe. also if smaller and "lighter" is better why arent the top import drag cars as fast as the top fuel cars? theyre certainly as expensive. abel iberra spent as much on his 7 second rotary MOTOR as it would cost to build an entire 6 second pro 5.0 race car. give it a rest with this bs. ricers try to complain about doing more with less all the time and then when they lose they cry about having a smaller motor. in all honesty it really is unfair to compare imports and domestics in general anyway because 99 percent of import enthusiasts are more worried about what color their headlights are than what their best e.t. is while domestic enthusiasts are the opposite.

take away that turbo on the 1.3L rotary and see what ya get

7200 dollars and I've seen this rather typical setup run mid to high tens. And, it leaves you 800 to play with nitrous. It costs how much to get what? Four add ons for the Supra? And you still had to change out the twin turbo set up to get impressive power? Oh well, to each his own. To be honest, it's ok with me that the Supra may have potentially more power than my firebird. I bought the Trans-Am brand new, if I had wanted a Supra, I would have bought one. As far as Hondas go. I was down at MIR for the Import Domestic shootout. The big draw was a completely gutted, ten point cage,Fat slicks up front, skinnies in the rear, one seat "supersport" civic. Oh yeah! with a wheelie bar. Guess what it ran? Mid tens. Honda power YAY!!!
