Yea John, but do they fit the suspension requirements? 4 Link and Ladder bar cars with enough motor and dope are flyin'. This race is about how fast you can go with stock suspension. THat means, torque arm and all components in the unmoved stock location. That kicks out most of all the cars you are thinking about in a hurry.

Exactly!! Nicely put. The key word i think some are missing is TORQUE ARM (stock suspension). NO ladder bar or 4 link.
I have never seen a low 8 second torque arm car of any generation... 3rd or 4th. (There could be though, i just personally have never seen or heard of one. YET.) If there is , more power to them. They should still be allowed, (even though i can't hang), as long as they meet the suspension and weight requirements.

Is this going to be a series, annual event, or just a one time thing.
I know of another on the east coast that will probably be there soon too.

Yes, even my dumb redneck *** knows the potential of a properly set up turbo car. Depending on when this happens I may show up with one. I meant no ill will, towards any one in this thread and was obviously misunderstood. I think carbs are archaic in nature and don't represent the future of our sport, thats the real reason I don't care to see them there. I was just trying gentle suggestion, instead of being so blunt. At this point I'm so tired of arguing with everybody that I could care less what shows up, I'll be there.

Its only touchy because people have made it that way. Choice of injection is just that, choice. There is nothing left nowadays that has carb's ahead of anything FI related.
"That scares you more than someone showing up with a 106mm turbo on a gen I SBC with a hogan sheetmetal intake and in dash intercooler?? "
My sentaments exactly. Turbos are running everybody out the back door and making them get second and third jobs to compete. Thats why I've never seen the logic in all EFI events. Suspension it what seperates the boys from the frickin' men. Can you get it to the ground...???
Now can anyone show me a big block 3rd or 4th gen WITH a torque arm still????
There are a couple of 3rd gens in the chicago area with big prochargers on them running in the 8 second timeslip area. One of them checks in at 8.60's and other at 8.90's last I heard.
