Will I ever see a decent 60ft???
DRs at 19 psi
launch at 2500, bad bog and slowest 60ft (about 2.2)
3500 and dropping clutch, seemed like a little spin. Did this with both turning over the tires and getting them smoking and same result.
Lowered DRs to 17 psi and adjusted rear KYB shocks two notches softer
4000, clutch drop, some spin....no better
3500, clutch drop....no better
Ran about 10 times total and nothing better than a 1.9X.
I have Lakewood boxed LCAs and ADJ Panhard rod, also the Edelbrock TQ arm.
I suck, track prep, non-adjustable TQ arm....what is holding me back from the 1.7-1.8 range?
Race weight was 3765, also stock clutch which seemed to hold pretty well.
I want to keep it as I would run on the street with the exception of the DRs. Have I reached my 60ft limit? In contrast my 60fts on Sumitomo HTR-Zs was in the 2.0X to 2.1X range.
Any inputs would be appreciated.
IMO, if your going to drag race a 6spd, you need to step up to ET Streets at least. Is it possible to get a killer 60 on DR?.. sure, but it will be WAY too inconsistant to be any fun.
My car at VMP:

I don't have a line lock, so the best and only burn out I got was about 5-7 seconds, enough that white smoke was going past my window. Still cut a crappy 60ft. Every other time I tried it I'd kill the motor going from the clutch to brake. Clutch was solid, it has only a few thousand miles on it and I haven't smelled it burn yet (knock on wood).

What would the benefits of ET Streets be with my 6-speed? Would they give me consistent 60ft's or will I just have a better chance of a decent 60ft every so often? What about a burn out without a line lock...possible?
Thanks for the replies.
granted im a A4 but cam only I could only see 1.64's average with DR's. I usually saw 1.58-60's normally, but it just depended on track prep. I slapped on et streets and my worse 60ft was a 1.56 lol. 4 passes and the 60's were 1.55-56's. Like wilwaxu said, et streets will hook far more often than DR's. You probably have found that once DR's start spinning, you usually have to let out to get them to bite some. ET streets are always trying to bite since their sidewall is flexing. You have the 12bolt already so you have slim chance of breaking the rear. Maybe borry someone's and try and see how they work.
you can come race at our fbody/stang event at MIR on sept 18th also if you want. Should be some quick cars there
VMP is a very good track also.. one of my fav's

If I want to do better it looks like I will probably have to look at selling the DRs and getting some ET streets. Still a stock clutch in it, how long would it last? I'd only go to the track 2-3 times a year, if it last thru a few years of that I'm good, if it toasts on the first run I may just have to cut my losses and keep the DRs and hope for the best.
