Re: Finished Write-Up for Hood Pin Install Welding is very easy. I bought a Lincoln gasless MIG from Lowes. It is very easy to use and comes with an instructional video. Having a welder is a must IMO if you are into doing mods on your car.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the Lincoln unit cost you? Can you weld aluminum with it?

You should not weld aluminum with a gasless unit. There is a conversion kit available for this welder to make is use gas, then you could weld aluminum.

Might try and save up to buy the Lincoln though since you can buy a kit to convert it to gas use. MIG I assume??

Re: Finished Write-Up for Hood Pin Install MIG is correct. A TIG welder is much more flexible and can weld just about anything, but are much harder to master and require much practice. A TIG has a foot pedal to vary the current/voltage and uses different sticks for different metals. A real art to be good at for sure <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
