TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
LOL! You amuse me Tim. You are correct, I AM a co-owner of this site (a site that you seem to LOVE but yet I get no thanks from you, do I?) and thus I can do pretty much what I damn well please here. Does that bother you, Tim?
Glad you enjoy my threads and my site in general. You have a nice day too.

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
"I've seen other threads with "potential" sponsors locked. BUT, because Colonel is co-owner of this site and he received special treatment from TCI, and they might be a sponsor one day, this thread will stay alive.
The threads that were locked were told UNTIL they are sponsors, no pricing or such could be given."
Other threads with potential sponsors? Was this thread started by a TCI employee? No, don't think so. Tim, if you were to go out and test brand X converter and report the results here, it wouldn't get locked. You know that. As far as pricing being given, I commented once in this thread about a $500 converter hangin' with the big boys. I didn't see anyone else do that....and well, I'll excuse myself for it. TCI didn't report pricing.
BTW, thanks for bringing my thread TTT again. You trolls are good for something other than amusement. Please feel free to comment in ALL my pimpin' threads.

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
I can picture the way you launch and will certainly try it. You're slippin the convertor by foot stalling it just like a M6 launch. I'll just pretend my brake is a clutch and stall it at the line just as I do a M6. Maybe finally will be able to get some decent 60' times. Actually I do footbrake it all the time in the burnout box, and then burn it to the line, but never thought of launching it that way.

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
Yeah, stall it up 'till you feel the back of the car rise up just a little bit...not TOO much! You don't want the rear tires spinning while sitting still. Start off not too agressive on the throttle roll-in. If it hooks, next time go a little more aggressive, and then a little more, and a little more 'till you find that sweet spot.
Above all else, if you're running Nittos, ALWAYS do a good burnout! A little smoke ain't gonna cut it. You gotta get 'em sticky!

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
It's both. The '01-'02s are definitely faster as reflected by their excellent trap speeds. I've had an A4 '00 and an '02. ...And, the TCI 3500 performs very well as reflected by it's excellent 60 ft times. NOT better than the TP4600 I had in my '00 when it was internally stock but still, VERY well for a 3500 stall.
I predict the Yank SS3600 will perform comparably as well....maybe better. We'll see.
Spanky, did someone call you a troll in this thread?

"How many 2002s are on the above list?"
We should really ask how many '01-'02s are on the list since they are the same. The top 6 are (that in itself is amazing) and 21 out of 50.

Oh well, I'm just bitter that your stock internal A4 has probably already outperformed my modded 2002 M6. Sigh.... Shoulda stuck with the A4 and the TP4400
When are you gonna try the Yank? Are you going to swap convertors only, or are there going to be any mods in between convertor swaps?

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
My comment wasn't directed at you at all. You made an honest comment. You didn't know that TCI is a sponsor for all intents and purposes (the check should have arrived in Tony's mailbox today.) No harm, no foul. Tim, however, was being his usual trollish, **** stirrin', antagonistic self. Hell, even HE knows he's a troll!
I don't have a specific timeline on the Yank. It's not even on order yet. Been having too much fun with the car as is to worry about it so far.

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
Hey, I've got a better idea! How about I just swap an internally stock engine into the 'ole '00 Z for a weekend? Raceweight should be about 2750 by then.

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
As long as it's "photo-friendly," there is no limit on raceweight, so you really could show us all what's up with a raceweight that low. That would rock ice.

Re: TCI 3500 1/4 mile results!
Oh, it's photo friendly enough. Full interior minus rear seats.
I seriously plan to install a stock engine and gun for 10s one day if it hasn't been done by then. No time soon though. Gotta stay focused on those NA 8s first.
