Default Got some carpet weight figures here...

I love my Speed Inc. lightweight carpet. It looks very good. The only problem is that this was my first undertaking of installing carpet in a vehicle, so it doesn't stick completely to the floor in some places. Oh well, you can't have everything. First of all, to clear something up, if you get the cut carpet, the only thing that is cut is the console area. Everything else (holes for seat bolts and belts) you have to do yourself. I did have to trim this carpet some, but that is just less weight. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Anyway, I thought I'd help out a little by weighing some stuff:

stock carpet with all sound deadener removed= 27 lbs
Speed Inc. carpet with all sound deadener removed= 9 lbs
Speed Inc. carpet with sound deadener= 20 lbs

I removed about a pound of it by trimming. Please don't take these figures as exact amounts. These were done on a bathroom scale. I give these as just an approximation.

Right around $270. They also offer a cheaper version, which is basically the same as the front half on a "back-halved" carpet.

How much is the stock carpet with sound deadener?

I didn't install mine yet, and I was wondering if we are supposed to use any kind of adhesive to make the carpet stick to the floor??

I've heard it both ways, some do and some don't. I personally didn't because I don't want the headaches when/if I ever have to remove it again. It doesn't stay on the floor in the rear floorboard area and where the bottom cushions used to be. But, I'm not sure that adhesive would help this. There doesn't seem to be enough material to go down all the way anyway and still line up with the molded areas. I think I can live with it. I doubt you'll even be able to tell once I get the seats back in it.
