Default !ABS NEED HELP!!!!!!

Yeah I've done the search, some help but I am still having trouble.

I understand the difference between flared, double flared, and our oem "bubble" flare. What I don't like is, it's TOUGH to do the flaring with the stock lines.

I know you want to take the two front lines (10mm fittings) and t them together and goto the master cylinder (11mm coarse??) and just adapt the smaller rear line (10mm) to the larger line(12mm) that comes out of the ABS module and run to the master cylinder.

So I guess my options are to use metric/standard fittings and to go with double flared/bubble flared tubing. BUT!!!!! I can't find the metric T-connector for the front and don't know if they even make them. I've talked to a dozen people already. And I don't know if they make the smaller line to larger line metric conversion for the bubble flare. IF THEY MAKE THESE CONNECTORS AND YOU CAN USE THE STOCK LINES WITH NO MODIFICATIONS, SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

Now I assume they don't. The other problem is, I think the lines themselves are metric, not standard 1/4 & 3/16" lines. It's enough of a difference that when trying to flare the ends, the tubing just slips out of the tool. SO do I need a METRIC flaring tool???? And YES I tried putting the tool in a vice to lock the tool especially well.

And just to ventilate a little more, why do those stupid SOB's have to make life so hard and change the flares, use metric (3 different fittings, 2 different thread pitches, and 2 different sized lines) for just the ABS on the car?

I know a few of you have done this yourself, would you like to help me??? What fittings did you use and what tool (standard/metric)?

I REALLY appreciate any help you can give me.

Why are you trying to reuse the stock fittings where the abs unit is? Remove the whole abs modulator, cut the lines below it and re-route/combine lines needed and more the lines where you want to.

The ONLY ones that you need to use are the ones leading into the master cyl.

Your going to want to refit and reshape the lines anyways since it would look funny. So just cut them lower, change over to standard, then at the master cyl reuse your stock fittings. Total cost of this should prob run about 25.00 tops.

Now that i'm rereading your message, it seems that your not considering cutting and double-flaring the lines that you need and your looking for store bought lines. Just pick up a double flare tool and you'll be set. You can get them for about 15.00.

Just some food for thought.

I know which fittings I need to use and have everything I need except a good double flaring tool. The bluepoint(snapon) standard double flaring tool wouldn't work, plain and simple. I used a vice to clamp on the tool and the line still slipped out.

So I guess I'll answer my own question and assume yes I do need a metric double flaring tool or a different standard.

If I try a couple more tools and can't get it to work, I'm going without brakes.
