Default Madmans steering rack and daily driving?

I was thinking about getting this rack along with dropping my AC. How hard is it to steer? Is it like not having power steering at all?

Hey and what is involved with dropping the AC and all the lines etc? Does anyone have a write up on this? I plan on dropping the power steering too so any info on that would help too.

I got PA Racings Kmember/Aarms combo too if it matters.

I have his steering rack and it isnt bad unless ur at a dead stop and even then it isnt as bad as having no power steering. U feel a lot of rough bumps through the steering wheel. But nothing to complain about. Dont forget the short belt.

excelent quality. Can't wait to take it to the track sat!

Well, I have a manual steering rack, but not madman.
Sometimes I run my skinnies (175 80 15's) and driving everyday was easy.
Sometimes I switch to 225 50 16's in front. Parking lots suck, but it is doable.
You learn to drive differently.
You learn to stop 5-10 feet before your turns, hit the gas and drive foward first to get the front tires moving, then turn the wheel.

One benifit is your arms do get bigger.

As for ditching A/C, I just started yanking lines off my v6. It was quite easy, maybe 2 hrs max!!

i have the MADMAN rack and its fairly easy to turn. i can palm the wheel when im moving, but i do run skinnies. but i also have a very small steering wheel(13"). maybe you could drive around for a week with the short belt mod and then put the rack on and it would feel like ps again <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Hey thanks for the replies! I have PA racings Kmember/Aarm combo and with the 9.5 in rims in front I think it may be a little more challenging. I have a crappy alignment done and with the negative camber the tires seem to "wander" when barreling down the freeways at any speed.

Im worried that without the powersteering that it would be difficult to fight that "wandering". I wanna get this thing into the 3300s though. As for the AC anyone have a right up on the removal of this along with the powersteering?

How about the EGR too?
