Default Racing in Arizona?

I'm relatively new to Arizona. I know there are a few guys who frequent this section that race in Phoenix. A quick search turned up two tracks in Phoenix. Which one do you guys prefer and why?

Thanks,
Eric

Firebird Raceway-

Pros: Closer to the city, newer/bigger/better facility

Cons: No student/military discounts, overcrowded, harder to pass tech, track is never prepped (nickname Fireslick Raceway), ET and mph computer system at track always malfunctioning, a lot of ricers breaking down causing delays, the staging lanes are run very poorly

Speedworld Raceway

Pros: Track is prepped on weekends, better trained staff, easier to pass tech, not nearly as crowded as Firebird, cheaper than firebird w/ military/student ID, people tend to run better times here

Cons: Way the hell out in the middle of nowhere, white trash hillbillies, have to drive on dirt road for 1/4 mile.

Hope this helps!!!

Basically the Westsiders go to Speedworld more often, and everyone else tends to go to Firebird because of proximity.

The biggest group of LS1s in AZ is in the Arizona F-body association, which can be found at www.azfba.com. We have a few Vette guys that come out and play with us. You are more than welcome to join us any time.

I'm not too exited about driving on gravel, but I've done it before to get to the track.

I'll definately try and hook up with you guys. Whats funny is back in Iowa I always hung out with the local F-Body crowd. Being a former f-body owner I tend to identify more with that group.

if your looking for the street racing scene , well it sucks here.
nothing much going on but a bunch of posers and wannabe's.
best place to go is the north side at sonic on sat. evenings.

the tracks suck here. fireturd has major traction issues ( people loosing traction on the top end)and if you spend a day there expect to get 3 runs on a good day. ( don't count on getting your timeslip either).

speed world is a mom and pop facility. lots of fast cars but way the hell out there.
