NHRA/IHRA Rules on Parachutes?

NHRA/IHRA Rules on Parachutes? What are the rules for parachutes in the NHRA/IHRA?
For the NHRA, I thought you needed one if your ET was 8.49 or quicker in the 1/4th OR Speed was 150+ mph in the 1/4th. Can anyone verify these numbers? Any changes for 2003? Anyone know the IHRA rules?

Re: NHRA/IHRA Rules on Parachutes? in the class rules in the 2003 NHRA book it just says any car with a top track speed over 150mph needs a chute

And yes Mir, you need to have it at 150. Deploy at 155 i believe. Not sure on an ET requirement, but if you're in the 8's you better be going over 150 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: NHRA/IHRA Rules on Parachutes? The chute is mandatory for cars running over 150mph.
I use the chute on every pass it is cheaper for my wife to pack the chute than replace brakes.

Re: NHRA/IHRA Rules on Parachutes? I thought that I had heard a rumor that for this year any door car going over 137mph needed to have a chute. Wether or not you use it is up to you. Don't think they say you have to.

He said you can get away with really really high 9s but anything else they gave him crap. Also for the 9s you are supposed to have a NHRA or IHRA lic. They kicked him out last time for not having one of those too.
