Default How do QTP's hook vs. regular hoosiers?

They look like the hoosier slicks with slits in them. Are they the same compound? Do they hook 99% as well?

While I can't compare the two I can say that my Hoosier QTP's hook awesome! First time with them I tried launching at 6000 rpm and the bogged. Then did a 6500 rpm clutch dump and just went with no tire spin that I could tell from inside the car

What size do you run and what were your 60 fts on them and 1/4 mile times.
Thanks

My 27x11.5x15's have held up great so far N/A...going to see how they are with the new addition of the supercharger, as soon as the roads clear up out here...

They hooked about the same for me. Good enough for 1.49 60ft's. My best with the Drags is only 1.47 I think but I've only used them at a decent track once. I have my old set if you want 26's. I was holding onto them to see if I liked the 28's, but I'm running 4.30's now so I HAVE to run more tire. Both are much better than the 26X10.5 ET streets I had though.

It's gonna be a good year Terry.

How much Scott? I want them for the Spring Shootout event in 13 days! I need to order some 15x10" rims too.

My email is terencevV@aol.com. I might be going back to a heads/cam setup soon just to play around.

Well I thought I had the QTP's still, but they're the full slick. Probably 75% tread left, I just have to run something bigger.

I don't know if you need the street legal tire or not Terry, let me know. Otherwise Eric I'll give you a shot at them.

I'm working on my new heads now. I'm probably up 20+ cfm from .400 & up from what's on my car now. I'm at 295@.600, 238@.600 was stock. That's with the stock valvejob and haven't played around with best cuts on the valve yet. I'll probably be running a 232 XER single or maybe a 232/228 or so. Just depends what I can fit. What has MMS tried as far as a 232 goes? I know Derek ran one for a while, but don't know what the lobe sep. was etc. I'll run a 111/112, that 114 just pushes the band up too high.

What are your plans?

I have a 110-111 LS camshaft now and I hate it, the power band is too low. I'm planning on switching back to a 114ls camshaft, probably something close to what I ran before. I want to try out their new stage 2 heads and a direct port NX kit.
