If you have an option, get a 3.4-1 ton chassis tow vehicle. The bigger brakes, bigger sways, heavier springs can save your *** in an emergency.
Like having the trailer brakes lose electricity on a long downhill.
I run a 96 E-350 Club Wagon. Hauls all gear, AND 8 people, or 15 people and no gear, or objects up to 14 feet long. 15mpg highway. You never feel the trailer.

Re: Whats the minimum type truck that I can use to tow my camaro?
I got a nice 2002 GMC Sonoma (S10) with the 4.3L/A4. I've towed my Z28/trailer around 3500 miles so far with no problems at all. I can do ~75 on the highway and around ~65mph up steep hills.
The trick was using a weight distrib hitch. I'm going to tow my Z28 to Texas (1450 miles!) with the Sonoma.
Tim going to be there? You should be pretty competitive in the 12.0 dial in class. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

My car isn't track legal for low 10 sec passes. You'll have to hold down the mid 11 sec class.
