Front skinnies that don't need spacers and fit

Re: Front skinnies that don't need spacers and fit
I have a full set of bogarts 15" x 4" front, 15" x 9.75" back. Very nice rims, fit on my car with no grinding, spacing or any other problems at all. Biggest pain was getting the mcgard shanks, which were on backorder everywhere.
For several months I drove everywhere on the skinnies (including numerous 2+ hr trips to the track), with no problems at all. I am using ET sportsman fronts 8 ply, which arent the lightest tire in the world, but are very streetable and seem to last well.

You've got to be real careful regarding potholes, washouts, etc. w/these lightweight whls. A pothole will DESTROY one in short order. WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Keep in mind, these are not the P2 series which are more delicate and should ONLY be used on the track.
These rims are very durable but can be bent just as any weld or centerline rim. If this makes anyone feel more at ease...to date, since I have started production for F-bodies I do not know of one person whom has bent a set of these.

Re: Front skinnies that don't need spacers and fit
I have been daily driving my Bogart Fluted Drag Stars (P1 series) since October. No problems. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Skinnies on the front, 9.75" on the back. http://www.akmcables.com/bogey.html for a few pics.
I have removed the spacers from the back, and they seem to be doing OK. I have not removed the spacers I'm running on the front yet (or even tried it without them yet, tho). It may be the stick on wheel weights causing the interference that I had when I initially put them on the car.
I have a set of ET Drags mounted on another pair of rear Bogarts, unfortunately the stick-on weights from the center of the Bogarts met with the brake calipers a little to harshly. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> So they don't clear by *that* much. A little more grinding, I guess.

Couldn't you use the clip on wts - just put them on the inside of the rim?? Or will the Bogarts not accept them?

Re: Front skinnies that don't need spacers and fit
I am running moncoques on my car. 15x3.5 front and 15x10 rear with 7 inch backspacing. I got them used from a guy at www.racingjunk.com for 500.00. If you can find a style you like the backspacing from a nova seems to work well for f-body's

For those looking for possibly the lightest bolt on frt runners should take a look at the Weld AlumaStar 2.0 part# 788-15272. This wheel is a 15x3.5 on a 5x4.75 bolt circle. Here is a picture of the wheel: www.lambcomponents.com/whatsnew/index.htm#Weld%20Super%20Stock
I have had other drag rims in the past but when I opened the box and picked up one of these rims I couldn't beleive how light weight the rim is! The bolt circle is for a stock front spindle but I'm almost certain you will have to space with stock brakes because the back space is only 2.25". I have Strange front brakes along with Strange frt hubs and the rim fits great without a spacer also the calipers fit super tight to the rim without hitting and anyone that has ever seen the Strange caliper knows how much smaller it is compared to the stock caliper.
Every little bit of weight counts when your looking for those ET slips in the eights.
The best price I found on them was at Jegs.

Re: Front skinnies that don't need spacers and fit
I bought the first set of production Bogart P1 R/T's..IMOP these are the best fitting , best looking rims for our cars on the market today..Steve at SJM is super to deal with and went out of his way to make my deal go through..Even though I had to wait for the rims to be produced Steve kept me informed on the progress nearly daily..
I had already had the rear calipers ground to fit the Pro Stars I had on the car before the Bogarts but the fronts bolted up without any problems at all...
