Default Finally made it to the track again

Well I finally made it to a track yesterday, unfortunatly it is only an 1/8th mile track My first few runs I was pretty dissapointed mainly in the fact that I could not hook at all and I had just driven an hour to the track and started racing when I got there, the first few runs went like this.

first run:

60' - 1.76
ET - 7.84
mph - 89.9

run 2:

60' - 1.78
ET - 7.88
mph - 90.4

run 3:

60' - 1.73
ET - 7.80
mph - 90.6

run 4:

60' - 1.77
ET - 7.82
mph - 90.5

So at this point I was pretty pissed that my new slicks wouldnt hold the track. After talking with a few people I realized that nothing had been on the track but rain for the past 3 weeks. So I waited for about 2 hours for some big tire cars to make some passes and then went out for my next round of passes, this time I wasnt as dissapointed

run 5:

60' - 1.64
ET - 7.66
mph - 91.9

run 6:

60' - 1.64
ET - 7.65
mph - 92.3

run 7:

60' - 1.61 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
ET - 7.63
mph - 92.3

run 8:

60' - 1.61 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
ET - 7.60
mph - 92.6

I was pretty happy with that last batch of runs especially with my 60' times. Those last two runs were leaving off of my 6600 rev limiter <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

My changes from the last time I went to the track consist of:

Denny's Nitrous Ready Driveshaft
ASP pulley
Flowmaster collector with 4" bullet muffler
Weld Pro stars
Custom clutch (M1) from the Nitrous Outlet

The raceweight was right at 3600lbs ( I really need to put this pig on a diet ) and the clutch held up PERFECT I never had a single problem with it while launching above 6k, and it felt perfect on the way home.

temp. 75
DA +1866

Not to bad for a bolt-on M6 pig <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Not bad at all for the air and raceweight! Spray it next time. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Thanks, right now I am torn between making the car lighter (k-member, a-arms, shocks, etc.) or making more horsepower with a nice BIG cam <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Sean,

Gald to see ya went to the track again. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

Don't be torn, just do them all! <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Now lets hear about some track times on the DOPE! <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />
