Default ET Streets .... can I drive on em?

I have never used ET Streets before and have a set to put on my car for a trip to my local track.
The problem is that I have a dyno tune at MTI on Friday at 2:00pm and would like to go to the track right after that. This would be a fair amount of mileage...say
40 miles to MTI, 40 miles to pick up my buddy, 45 miles to the track and 50 miles home. Is this too much milage on these tires?

Also do these tires need to be balanced? I bought these used already mounted on rims and there are no weights on them.

This will probubly sound like a stupid question to those of you who but what can I say...Im a dumb ***.

Thanks
Hugh

You can drive on them, I would set them to 20psi for street driving....don't balance them, because they will wear uneven after a few burnouts, so its really not worth it, just don't get involved w/any rain...

Yes you can drive on them (IN THE DRY) but they will wear out faster, especially starting with used ones. Just put enough air in them and go easy on the street. They are slightly taller so they could give you a slightly inflated dyno number.
They should be balanced but might not need it as well, I'd do it anyway though.

And of course being imbalanced at 105mph+ it could get a little hairy up the track and possibly steal some ET/MPH, no?

Personally, I wouldn't drive on them... There's more to a tire than just the amount of tread on it (which in itself will rapidly disappear from an ET Street). The constant heat of normal driving will prematurely break down the rubber compund itself, and will affect the performance of the tire.

This may or may not affect you very much, depending on the car... Just for example, I have to replace my slicks long before they're worn down to the wear indicators, as my car really stresses the tires a lot. They usually still look almost new when I get rid of them, but no longer work for me.

JMHO...

George C. I am not putting dn even near the power you are. Nitto's would come close to sticking with my mods. I hope driving on the ET's wont mess them up too bad but I will only use them that day. It is kind of a time constraint thing that is forcing me to do this.

By the way...you times kick ***. I checked out your website...very impressive

OK so I can drive on em....They are use but very new.
I guess I will balance them to be safe then unless more of you think I shouldnt.

Thanks for the input.
