Help me pick out a converter !!!!!!!!
It is time for a torque converter fellas.(my transmission died for the LAST TIME!!) I am looking for something that is going to stall pretty high and pretty hard. I am very concerned about streetablility. I would like to drop 4-5 tenths from the converter(and I think a good shifting FLP transmission should be good for a tenth or maybe 2--the old transmission shifted like a turd). I am up for suspension upgrades for traction and even a tire change if necessary.(currently on nittos)
I would like a converter that is nitrous freindly and something that won't stall over 4500-5000 if I hit the nitrous when I nail the gas at the lights.
Keep in mind that this is a bolt on car also. I would like to keep away from the 4K+ converters like the pt4400(if I didn't have the nitrous that WOULD be my choice).

Re: Help me pick out a converter !!!!!!!!
I'd say either the yank ss3600 or ss3800. Both convertors are supposed to be good both N/A and on the gas.
N/A performance with these convertors is not as good as the PT series, but its more of a dual purpose convertor. If I remember correctly, Patrick G said these convertors really shine on the gas.
The PT series is useless on the gas. Somehow a few guys pickup ET, but from what I've seen the nitrous just blows through the PT convertor.
Infact, I just saw a yank ss3800 in the for sale section for 500 bucks.
